Pens are much better in the prospect department than in years. Now as they add with picks and trades for more picks, Players will emerge like Howell, Brunicke, Broz, Ruther M, Add in St Ivany, Pickering, the goalies, Ponomarev, Poulin and mid 20's guys like Glass, DOC, Jesse P and Pens can get back faster than some think. Couple years and now the roster is adding young talent form drafts and added prospects.
they could, but then they need to draft their top core players in the next 2 years. but they should have the players to fill in. imo

They need three core players, one in each of the next three drafts! We need to hit on our 1st rounders big time. And with some of our other picks get a couple quality top nine forwards. We're set with our goaltenders I believe for years to come. It's all about the draft, hitting on those picks and developing them to the fullest!

Nice to finally see some talent at all levels of the organization. Would be nice if Dubas got rid of a bunch of garbage at the NHL level so the AHL and ECHL guys could get called up to the next level.

I think Howe should get a nice bump in production now that he's on the Hitman, 2 assists in his first game and Calgary has far more talent than Regina had.

Howe's playing on Calgary's top line with their 2 top scorers (Kindel and Tulk), Tulk was undrafted but Kindel looks like a 1st round talent this year. This team isn't even close to on par with Yager's team from last year, but Howe-Kindel-Tulk as L1 with Yakemchuk (7th overall to Ottawa) as their #1 D should put Howe in a better position to succeed.

Decided to go see the Nailers tonight and pay my respects to Tomas Vokoun for his Wheeling HOF induction. Houde at 1C, Waugh-Lindgren paired together, and Gauthier in goal. Already up 2-0 halfway thru the 1st. Gauthier has 11 saves so far and is seeing everything well. A pleasant surprise in the other net, former NHL great Jon Gillies in goal for Cincy.

Houde with an absolute snipe from the right circle on the PP. 5-1 Nailers and now Cincy turns it into a slugfest. 2 fights, including Waugh who then waves to the fans as he skates to the box. If he can score and complete the Gordie Howe HT, this game will be right up there with seeing Crosby or Martin Sonnebergs first goal live. As im typing this, some guy ive never heard of makes it 6-1.

Last post of the night. 7-1 final. Pens property (I think?) Matt De St Phalle scores the extra point. Gauthier finishes with 31 saves.

How did Calvert, Lindgren, De St. Phalle, Beck and Klassen look to you? I think Klassen and Lindgren could be called back up to the baby pens.

Lots of interesting undrafted or unsigned prospects in Wheeling this year. Will be interesting to see if any of them can earn an ELC

Honestly hard to evaluate tonight because Cincy is horrendous, 2 wins and dead last in the league. Calvert had a flukey goal and an assist but his line with Houde and Jordan Martel always generates chances. Lindgren likes to roam around but skates kind of awkward. IIRC hes been putting up the miles traveling between wilkes and Wheeling. Beck is either a great playmaker or his linemate Kyle Jackson (former Kraken pick) is a scoring machine. Jackson had 2g 2a, and Beck had 2a and was +4. I first noticed DSP at training camp, smaller guy that skates decent and likes to shoot...like a more handsome TK? Claussen was centering line 3 tonight and 2a, 1 being Houdes PPG.
