I think this is the final nail in the coffers when it comes to three things...

1. Havertz will never be consistent enough as a #9 to score enough goals to win the title or any major trophy for that matter.

2. Trossard is clearly an off-the-bench player for a club as prestigious as ours.

3. Martinelli will never reach the world-class potential he had when he was younger.

That doesn't mean these three players are useless, but clearly shouldn't be starters at this point.

Jokes aside it wasn’t that bad of a comment. I do think that when coaches are pressured and have to think on the spot they say anything after a loss.

This is Another of many examples of Arteta/Arsenal being unable to take accountability. Which of course has trickled into the fan base. Justifying not winning anything is a lot easier when you refuse to look into the mirror. But of course this is also why they can’t handle adversity

Love Savant overreacting to a mirror headline that exaggerates what Arteta said lol. Never change.

What do you even want Arteta to say to the media? "My guys missed all of the countless chances we had, and they scored their only two chances on a flukey bounce to Isak and rebound to Gordon"

Please. You say this like people weren’t clutching their pearls if Klopp mentioned it was windy. Come on.

“We have to be more clinical, we have not been good enough in open play this season and I will have to improve that in training”

The conspiracy against Arsenal was way prior to arteta. Again coaches say anything in the spot imo. This wasn’t as bad as the headline suggests

Respectfully disagree. This is bad. This a pattern. It’s a difference excuse every week
Arteta and Arsenal fans rightfully complaining about reffing standards this year has nothing to do with today's game.

Nobody made an excuse today. Arteta mentioned they used a different ball and it maybe having an impact rather than throwing his players under the bus for missing the chances they should have scored today. Then the mirror exaggerated a headline, and now you're making a big deal out of it. Apparently you'd rather he throw his players under the bus, because it wasn't a tactical issue today.

Yes we know the refs are bad. No one seems to care about it until they feel their team is in the crosshairs though.

This, again, is the same thing that knives came out for Klopp for when Klopp mentioned it being windy

It’s not exaggerated because it’s not misrepresenting things.

I thought I drafted up a pretty fair quote earlier, that didn’t throw any players under the bus. And didn’t state anything that isn’t already known. You’d think I was media trained

It wasn't even that Arteta mentioned it out of the blue. Arteta was specifically asked a question that stated that other managers had complained about the ball and asking if that was a factor. And all Arteta said was that the ball was different but Arsenal should be able to adapt.

No surprise who is incapable of understanding context.

Yea I love to hate on Arteta as much as the next guy, but looking at the quotes, it's a giant nothingburger.

His message was basically, "yes the ball is different. We knew that going in and we discussed it as a team but we didn't execute well to handle those differences and we need to do better"

Both teams play with the same ball. If the balls are different, train with the different balls. It’s not like you are switching from a sphere to a cube

Which it sounds like they did, but when it came to the game didn't execute. That's what he acknowledged when asked a question about it.
Which is fine, but again, this is a pattern from Arteta/Arsenal. This is not an isolated incident.

You had far less energy to whine about this when Klopp trotted out one of his stupid excuses like:

- Too windy
- Too snowy
- Pitch too wet
- Pitch too dry
- Too much time between games
- Too little time between games.
