For as much puck control as NYR had, Minnesota didn't break down and was rotating into shooting lanes the entire time. Out there for a while, he tried what looked like an indirect shot where there was a lane because a direct shot + block could pinball the other way and lead to an odd-man rush.

Panarin needs someone parallel to him on his other side on the PP. A defenseman preferably. I have seen him make some amazing passes to Jones that way when he was on CBJ, and it gets people turned around. We can pass all day but teams won't care because most of the passes are perimeter passes.
