I was more basing it off of how he played against the flyers. Significantly better than the few games prior. He needs to shoot more, plain and simple. His shot is too good. He is getting more space this year with Nash being on the team. Top pairings are going up against Nash. Gaborik will get the 3-4 and some occasions 5-6. He needs to be more selfish...like Nash.

But I figured his stats were/are good against the Islanders.

He has definitely been playing better despite his lack of numbers. Took some strong shots against Philly and that's what he needs. Simplicity. Speed and his shot.

Rick Nash can do all the fancy stuff.

I don't believe Gaborik is fully back yet either. I completely forgot he has shoulder surgery in the off season

This is one of those games where you gotta figure Gaborik goes off.

4-2 rangers
Gabby x2
Powe gets his first
Boyle breaks his scoring slump

I want Powe and Halpern to score so badly. I think they deserve it because they're unsung heroes.

You ask Gaborik to play like Nash and he'll be broken in a week. You ask Nash to play like Gaborik... he wouldn't be as good either.

Lets just let them both play their games. Best pair of wingers this team has had since Bure and Kovalev. I'd count Jagr and Shanny but they were both heavily on the decline by that point.

I think Jagr and Rucinsky were the best pair of wingers since Jagr was so ridiculous that year.

Who will wear the second "A"

Girardi is one, but Gaborik? Nash? Stepan?

My thought is give it to Gaborik to see if that helps get him going.

Really it should be Nash though....

Well, they didn't give an A to anyone on Tuesday in the absence of Richards. So, I'd say they'll just go with 1 A and 1 C (if Richards plays, hopefully he does).

Stay with it. I have a feeling this will have to be a comeback win. They don't play much defense but definitely pushes their offense and roll on that momentum. We need to play a solid defensive game, bore them and not get into a track meet with them. Having that said, we most likely will give into it at times and knowing the NYR, we will get on the bad side of that track meet even though we may get just as many chances.

Well, if Richards plays, we'll still be short 1 A long term and they'll give it to someone. There's no point in giving an A to someone for 1-3 games in Richards' absence but with Staalsy out, there will at least be one A given to someone who didn't have it to start the season. If Richards comes back, we'll have CAA, if not it'll be CA on Danny G. I would absolutely love to see Gaborik with an A though. Not for any other reason but the outright troll that it would be. It's not like Gaborik is undeserving but DG, Nasher, McD would probably get the A before Gabby.

Shut down Tavares. Staying out of the box will go a long way towards shutting down Tavares. Isles have a top-5 PP in hockey.

These games are always tricky. Lets come out strong and make it 4 in a row.
