Yeah, that's some crazy value right there.I had ranked this guy at 208 overall pre draft so this is nothing but a huge steal. Well done Benning! Couldn't be happier!
Couldn't agree more.....the string of futility in drafting project d-men late in the draft is mercifully over. Draft some high-skill forwards for a change. Sure a lot of them will bust, but if you're starting with the basic premise that the kid has some high-end skill, at least there's a better chance one of them will pan out.The **** defenseman draft is finally over
I believe this is the youngest player we drafted this year, and he seems like good value for the pick. Curious to see if he cracks into any of the men’s leagues this year.

He's our EP replacement for when we trade Petey for a 1st round pick.
It was a joke lmaoMight be a good move in 12-15 years.
I like how forward thinking you are managing our assets.
He will likely get get a fair number of games in the SHL. Especially when you consider that the club he is playing for unexpectedly lost one of their young players (who won't be replaced) to the Kings and that the junior player closest ahead of him will spend the entire season in Hockeyallsvenskan.
The team is also expected to have 14 forwards at the start of the season (or 13, as one is injured) and one of them have missed most of the last two seasons due to injuries. So Costmar should have a good chance of call-ups and will likely see some action during the preseason.
Since Hansen, Mario Bliznak (7th, 2005) played 6 games in the NHL. That's it.Other than Jannik Hansek, I'm having trouble remember a single guy drafted in the seventh round or later who actually went on to play for the Canucks. Obviously there must be somebody, maybe a goalie or something, but I'm drawing a blank.
Seems like a reasonable late pick. Was good enough to be selected for Sweden’s U18 team.
Extremely hard to evaluate these Euro J20 guys until they move up levels.

He might be in the world juniors for Sweden because he’s their best ‘01 forward from what I can tell. Production looks good and hopefully next time there is hockey he will be playing.
He actually is playing, and has 1G 5A 6Pts in 3GP in the J20 league, and has 4GP (with VERY limited minutes) in the SHL so far.
He should definitely be a strong candidate for the WJ team like you said.
