Seeing Nolan's imprint more and more as season goes on. People hoping for tank should be getting nervous. This team is starting to work hard
Nowhere near that right now.

The Sabres were built to finish last, dumping solid veterans, and draft Joe Thornton in '96-97. Nolan got ticked and drove them to the playoffs...
Careful now. Myers looked that way too a few years ago. Which was fine. But as soon as Risto gets paid anywhere over 2 mil per, he's expected to be a 40+ pt. all situations never make mistakes or he sucks #1 elite Dman.
Myers has never been so effortless defensively and smart with decision making as Risto.
Nowhere near that right now.
We shall see but watching some of these other teams and the Sabres are better than them. There are a lot of crummy teams this year and I don't think the Sabres are the worst of them all if they continue to play the way Nolan wants them to.
Even if they do though, the gap in talent is going to be too much to overcome on most nights. They'll win a few games here and there, but usually they're going to need all the bounces to go just right.
There is a huge talent difference with teams like Pitt, Anaheim and LAK but the talent is pretty even with a bunch more teams like Edm, Colorado, Florida, Leafs, Columbus, Carolina, Arizona.
It's really not. Well, except maybe Florida. Every other team there clearly has more talent on their roster than we do. It's just either injured or being wasted by s****y coaching/effort.
