This team Canada has always been bad defending. their clear achilles heel. Any decent side probably exploit that. Remember how we f***ed Croatia? haha What a dummy Herdsman is.

Any clinical side will punish us on the back which Croatia did all day.

All that said lets remember one late goal against Bosnia has allowed Canada to even be in this situation. That game was botched, really bad by Canada but they got the goal to salvage a point. Without which they would be 3rd.

In a group of Bosnia and Qatar how do you not advance? Not to be negative but Qatar were a bingo spot in this group and Bosnia are nothing as well.

Was a minnow opponent grouping. Swiss only decent side we've had to face in group and even at that only 18th ranked world. Canada didn't have a single top dozen side to face which is fortune.

Hosting is a charmed life. you don't have to qualify and FIFA drops you some group stage gifts. Canada ought to have advanced and did.

But it was a loss today and thanks to Qatar we get a knockout game.

Yeah. Pretty silly game by the swiss though at times. Thought they were just playing out clock and doing nothing with the ball after hydration break in both halves. They play this differently and do more to ensure if this was a knockout match. They laid back too much down the stretch. Canada can mount something if you lay off.

I was disappointed with Marsh’s tactics in this game. All they needed was a draw to win this group and he didn’t approach this game with that in mind. He may not be as obnoxious as Herdman was but this game proves he isn’t any brighter. Coach the game with what the specific situation demands. After a scoreless first half he should have gone with 5 defenders in the second half. Focus on securing the draw you need in the final group game. He didn’t and they got blown up immediately. What should have been excitement today feels like a huge disappointment now.

Gotta say again what a great job Vancouver are doing hosting this. So glad we're not seeing these games in Toronto. Nice stadium pitch, and photogenic surroundings.

BC Place is looking great with the natural grass surface. Great energy downtown. Haven't made it out to the PNE for FIFA Fan Fest but hope to in next few days.

The pundits still trying to make today some sort of W. As if getting 4pts in a group with Bosnia and Qatar is some great thing. Qatar are worse than most sides Canadians would play in qualifying. The whole table was set here for Canada to have a home knockout game in Vancouver and as you noted they even managed to blow that. Sure they got into knockout, like I said was next to impossible not to, in this group, but they will likely be seeing a more difficult opponent, and not at home. The latter being the real shame is that Canada blew an historic chance to have a knockout at home in beautiful surround in front of their fans. Sad at that actually.

Although I did at one time consider that Swiss weren't being pacifists in this game. They were quite physical.

Scotland in over their heads. Knew that going in but...

As well the one thing playing Brazil that you would think would be drummed into you is don't be dispossessed of the ball around your own box. Scotland dummied 3X and one called back. They're killing themselves, not to discredit Brazilian play but Scotland has given them everything.

McGinn to me looks like the best Scottish footballer by miles. Not this Mctominay guy or a lot of the other guys they have out there. A lot of them look inept offensively, defensively. McGinns every touch on the ball has been quality, and the Scotland offense seems to flow through him.
