For the curious:

Roden is coming off an injury and is rehabbing in A-ball. But he has yet to play in the majors this season. In 26 AAA games he's hitting .275 with a .425 OBP and .889 OPS and walking more than he's striking out (19% BB rate to like 16% K rate)

Last season in his partial year with the Twins at the big league level he was basically unplayable (a 26 wRC+ and -0.3 fWAR in like a dozen games)

Rojas has made 5 appearances in a relief role (and one opener spot) with a 1.46 ERA but concerning underlying metrics including walking 16% of batters he faces that suggest he's due for some negative regression.

I know we won, and that's great, but Vladdy is really annoying me. 0 for at the plate, and he is tapping every opposing player on the butt after they reach 1st base. Can we have a little more intensity from him and stop being so chummy with everybody? So f***ing annoying.

This is a big nothing-burger that nobody would give a solitary F about if the team was winning and he was performing. Plus he's always been like this including when he was doing well.

Be mad he's not producing, but the fact that he's a personable, friendly guy means absolutely nothing in terms of that struggle. Hell, if he was angry and surly all the time right now people would probably chide him for taking his struggles into the field and dragging everyone down with his negativity like a child throwing a tantrum.

Ok yes, maybe that's true but maybe pause on that kind of behaviour while he is struggling? Like FFS, man. Not a good look at all. I am not saying be pouty and negative either.

If vladdy cant entertain us at the plate, I’d like to see him throw down some stone cold stunners at 1st base!

Agreed but if I was already extremely rich and then had another $500M guaranteed coming my way I'd be the most personable, friendly guy too. No matter how much I'm under-performing and actually hurting the team by doing my own thing and listening to no advice

But why though? Why do you need performative sullenness to validate his struggles? Unless what he's doing is actively making him worse or causes a distraction because it annoys his teammates or something, I don't care what he does. For all we know the cheerfulness is to help manage his stress or anxiety over the struggling and how much it weighs on him.
