Seattle has to start making some moves to at least be more competitive within the next year or two. The SuperSonics coming back is a real problem for the KrakenIt never ends with Seattle, does it? More of the same bland, no high-end players. Just a bunch of average to slightly above average players (and a lot of below average mixed in) hoping to squeak into a wildcard spot.
Insane difference in management styles between Vegas and Seattle. One franchise seems to want to win at all costs, the other seems happy being the Minnesota Wild circa 2002-2020.
Interesting twist

I don't believe the Kraken will be long for Seattle tbh. Lack of winning + NBA returning is a bad, bad mix.Seattle has to start making some moves to at least be more competitive within the next year or two. The SuperSonics coming back is a real problem for the Kraken
Nah, I don't think so Seattle should be good. Lots of corporate presence and lots of money in the city. Would it help if they didn't have a middling and unexciting team? Sure. Nobody is suggesting that they would be moving, that would be stupid. But they have failed to take a proper foothold at the market, and it's not going to be any easier in the future.Nah, I don't think so Seattle should be good. I think for the Avs at least, teams that are interested are seeing what they can grab from UFA and if players are willing to go there.Nothing is happening around the league. The Colton trade certainly didn’t open the floodgates.
Meh, this is the year that something happens!Nothing is happening around the league. The Colton trade certainly didn’t open the floodgates.
Well, that’s not exactly a bold prediction, is it?Meh, this is the year that something happens!
I do think some things will happen before or at the draft.

I think I'd take Dickinson over McCarron...Dickinson was good for them and is a decent player, but by no means should he be signing a $20,000,000 contract.
A high pick might be able to contribute immediately. From last year's draft Schaefer, Misa, Frondell, Martone, Kindel were definitely already at a NHL level. That's 5 out of the first 11 picks. Top-10 is usually high enough that you'll get a guy who's close to being ready, and the odds are higher if you avoid project players. Now, Knies is already a good NHL'er, why bother? It might be that they have more need for another center or a defenseman than a winger. They still have to pick a winger with their own pick because those two guys at the top project so much higher than anyone else.If true, Chayka is all over the place.
Trading Knies for a top 10 pick is more of a delay in competing.
But then they trade for a 30 year old Raddysh.
Like, I don’t get the path here. Are they trying to win or re-tool?
Hopefully someone overpays assets for Drury (Roy)..
Or at least we consider moving both... Seems like everyone locking up their centers for the long.
@RoyIsALegend any chance you've heard anything about Nic Roy?
