After a disappoing Olympics its WC next. A tournament where we have 2 bronze in row, which is a improvement from previous years in WC where either got kicked out in qf or did not even make it to qf. Last tournament with Hallam then Grönborg takes over. Which is good news. With recent Olympics, 4 nations and many WC in row where we got many high quality nhlers im expecting more players from Euro Leagues this WC and not that many nhlers.

Realistic nhlers with current standings and contract:

William Eklund - Oscar Lindberg - André Petersson

Jonathan Dahlén - Rasmus Asplund - Lucas Elvenes

Linus Karlsson - Lias Andersson - Liam Öhgren

Fredrik Olofsson - Felix Nilsson - Marcus Sylvegård

Anton Frondell, Ivar Stenberg

Adam Wilsby - Tom Wilander
Erik Brännström - Elias Pettersson
Jacob Larsson - Jonathan Pudas
Tobias Björnfot - Elias Salomonsson

No idea about goalies.

then we will see who joins after the first round of stanley cup to spice it up. Probaly no one lmao.

Please, no more Sörensen, Bengtsson, Friberg, Rasmussen, De la Rose, Jesper Fröden, Tim Heed etc. yikes

Zetterlund already played 2 WC recently and probably pissed about not making Olympics, same with Burakovsky and Backlund, so i dont count on them to come. I don't think W Eklund will have that mentality, being the son of Fimpen and all.

Too bad Bäckström looks mediocre in SHL.

Frondell and Stenberg will probably be tired after a long season. I hope im wrong.

Really hope they bring Stenberg and Frondell, perhaps even Björck as extra (watch and learn).

I am hoping for a young team. Commence the 2030 rebuild!

No thank you to all players who'll be retired by 2030. Basically anyone born before 1995.

They should go young, but my guess is that they’re too dumb to understand that. Hopefully older players are wise/tired enough to decline their invitations.

Want to see Edvinsson/ASP, Leo Carlsson, Eklund, Stenberg, Frondell, V Eklund, Björck, Holmström, Linus Karlsson, Liam Öhgren, Lekkerimäki, Sandin, Östlund, Broberg, Willander, Rosén, Otto Stenberg.

Wouldnt mind Felix Unger Sörum, 2nd best U21 scorer in AHL and has experience from Skoda Cup.

Honestly Broberg is one of the most underwhelming players I’ve seen in my life. There’s no edge to his game at all. None.

Haven’t seen him so much in the NHL. I can’t judge any player from what we saw in the Olympics, sadly

I am mentally preparing myself for a first line of Friberg - de la Rose - Sörensen 🙈

Broberg was good in Olympics. Almost no misstakes and joined the rush. He does look a bit dead on the ice thought. Kinda soft.

He was dead awful. Literally added nothing, a slightly worse player than Forsling and Lindholm defensively. As bad or worse offensively. A slightly worse skater than Karlsson, OEL and Dahlin. There is no need at all for a player like that just a downright headscratcher of a decision to bring him at all.

Back in his junior days, I didn’t even think he was going to make the NHL at all though. A low IQ fast skating offensive defenseman, didn’t think he’d be able to adapt to being a defensive d, and really watching him. I don’t think he has. Watch Lindholm, Brodin, Forsling or Peak Ekholm. He just doesn’t have the IQ.

I don't know why Zetterlund and Burakovsky would be pissed. In regards to the Olympic team, they were always gonna be on the outside looking in, although I personally would've liked Z on the team.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the tournament. In a way, I think the World Championships can be more fun than the World Cup, especially from a Swedish perspective with the generational shift what's now gonna come. I am curious to see some of our younger players.

Teams not making the playoffs:

Canucks (EP40, L.Karlsson, Öhgren, Höglander, Willander, M.Pettersson, EP25)
Flames (Backlund, Olofsson)

Rags (Zibanejad, Edström)
Devils (Bratt, Markström)
Caps (Sandin, Liljegren)
Flyers (Grundström, Andrae, Ersson)

Toronto (Nylander, Järnkrok, OEL)
Florida (J.Boqvist, Forsling)

Hawks (Burakovsky, A.Söderblom)
Blues (Berggren, Sundqvist, Broberg)
Jets (Nyquist, Rosén, Salomonsson)

Bolded = Free Agents, injured, or participated at Olympics.

Other players from AHL that Hallam should take a look at: David Edstrom, Anton Wahlberg, Isak Rosen, Fabian Lysell, William Strömgren, Adam Engström, Andre Lee, Filip Bystedt, Lekkerimäki. AHL is a good Leauge, just as good as SHL and NLA. It should not be overlooked. There is like 80 Swedes in AHL.

The World Cup/Canada Cup isn't really fun tbh - feels fake and scripted somehow. That 4 Nations was also a fraud - "Let's give our NA teams a complete home-ice advantage and give it our all to have a politicly strained final between us Americans!"

I think ive read somewhere that 2028 World Cup will have one group playing in Europe.

Could EP40 have some sort of feeling that he wants to prove himself still being a top player and therefore participating in WC? He should be one of the few Olympic players who still likes Hallam.

Burakovsky - Pettersson - Zetterlund
L.Karlsson - Lindberg - Öhgren
Stenberg - Asplund - Frondell
Boqvist - Björck - Höglander

Wilsby - Sandin
E.Pettersson - Klingberg
Willander - Brännström
Salomonsson

Söderblom
Ersson

I like the look of this team. Smart to play youngster Björck with 2 experienced guys. Dont forget Sundqvist. Unfortunately I think Hallam has the idea that 4th liners must be the likes of Bengtsson and De la Rose etc.

Is that Otto or Ivar? Why not both of them? Would be cool to see them on the same line in the NT.

Is not Klingberg finished as a player? Pudas and Joel Persson is having their best seasons ever.
