Robertson would cancel his contractDutch media says Gakpo may follow him. Would love that.

so like the other guy with Haaland?

We can’t actually be this dumb right

couple of bullet pointsI think Rio was always a candidate to be eventually sold (not a scouser, was already poached from Chelsea) but I don't think they would let him go now without Iraola having at least some time training with him. If Slot stayed though he would 100% refuse to even commit with LFC IMO.
I still believe LFC will have to offer him a new contract for him to stay (with most likely some more guaranteed playtime) otherwise I could see Rio refusing to train until it get settled.
About to get that 150m from Madrid for Olise allegedly.it's a stupid rumor.
Bayern would have to pay through the nose to make it even something to consider.
There was no hindsight. Moving Diaz was very dumb. If they needed the fee they could have sold Gakpo instead. They said Diaz would have blocked Rio? Diaz can cover centrally (which would have helped A LOT this season) and Gakpo cannot. Diaz wanted a raise? They just gave that money to Gakpo instead. And they STILL have neither replaced Diaz positional nor the traits they lost by selling him. There was no sporting reason to sell DiazRe: multiple previous posts
Man Gakpo would be such a Spursy signing (derogatory)
PSG bought and scouted very well with Doue, Barcola, Neves, Pacho, etc.. Let's not forget Zabarnyi 65M, Chevalier 40M, Kolo Muani 95M, Goncalo Ramos 65M, Ugarte 60M all in that same time period ...
IMO moving on from Diaz for that offer was the right move at the time. Obviously looking back with hindsight at how their respective years went it was a mistake, but getting 80M for a 28yo who was very good but not elite was good process.
there's only so many 150 million players right now
I agree it didn't make sense combined with what they subsequently did in the rest of their attack, but as you point out that's mostly because of other things they did or that happened to them completely unrelated to selling Diaz (Isak and Ekitike getting hurt, giving Gakpo a raise, Slot deciding he was never going to rotate or even use subs, Salah falling off a cliff)There was no hindsight. I mean, like 80% of all decisions even amongst top 5 league clubs are not made because of sporting reasonsThere was no sporting reason to sell Diaz
As of now, I wouldn't totally rule out a Haaland departure.so like the other guy with Haaland?
ComoAnd where that would leave Nico Paz, they're going to sell him? Unless it's a top CF, that price doesn't seem to make sense.

The Gakpo raise was definitely a result of Diaz. They didn’t want to pay both. And honestly Diaz ability to cover center is a bonus because if Isak and Ekitike were healthy Diaz would simply just be starting on the left. And we would not have had to overplay Isak (who was never fit after sabotaging his preseason) and Ekitike (who was out of gas by Valentine’s Day and probably contributed to his Achilles injury) either, so I am not buying that this is unrelated. Slot would have used Diaz if he was here. Slot wanted to keep Diaz, which was the only good thought in his brain in 2025.I agree it didn't make sense combined with what they subsequently did in the rest of their attack, but as you point out that's mostly because of other things they did or that happened to them completely unrelated to selling Diaz (Isak and Ekitike getting hurt, giving Gakpo a raise, Slot deciding he was never going to rotate or even use subs, Salah falling off a cliff)
But again, that is why it doesn’t require hindsight to see it was a bad decisionI mean, like 80% of all decisions even amongst top 5 league clubs are not made because of sporting reasons
