Red Sox/MLB 2026 Regular Season IV, 32-46

2 Wins in a row for the "we just started to practice the ABS system in June" Red Sox.

Big big game by Early. Durbin break out. We actually got some good hits. Started stealing bases again, who knew? Pen locked down.

Hallelujah! The kids are eating good again.

The Red Sox  just started practicing ABS?

are you shitting me?

What was Cora doing before he was fired?
Not sure the reference, but I recall during spring training reading or hearing Cora talk about ABS and their approach, which was he would let better hitters have more leeway with challenging and while in the field he just wanted catchers challenging

He also mentioned the analytics team "researching" certain trends in the minor leagues in regards to ABS. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Red Sox have completely over analyzed and over engineered some metric for this thing. Would explain why they are near the bottom of the league in challenges won. That and they have a bunch of scrubs at the plate that can't interpret a static strike zone, let alone make contact

Dont think there much more to the red sox tham what their record says they are. They'll have some ups and nice days but the downs with out number those. This org is the drama dumpster fire for fans to follow which is semi interesting bc its is the Red Sox a historic franchise so it commands coverage

Clearly, most of their hitters do not have a real grasp of the strike zone.

Narvaez seems to have a good idea behind the plate, though.

They mentioned on the broadcast that the team just started to practice ABS together.

And Merloni and OB were essentially kind of shocked.

Agreed, with the ups and downs, but they are on pace to put up a historically bad record at home that hasn't been done in 100 years by this club.

And now fans can't even go to Fenway, pay some of the highest prices in the league, and expect to at least see a competitive game or one that isn't over in the 3rd inning when the Sox go down by 3 runs?

Its beyond time for a change from top down. Think its very hard to them to let go but when youre in a hole the best move is to stop digging.
