Immediate run scored then they remembered they were at Fenway
This is gonna be an all time fumble from Craig Breslow.....in other news. Kyle Harrison looking VERY sharp. 10Ks through 4 scoreless innings so far.

I really don't get the fascination with hitting Duran in the leadoff spot. Guys on pace for around 180+Ks this year and his OBP is near the bottom of the roster.Immediate run scored then they remembered they were at Fenway
Probably true. I see him a number two hitter when he is hitting well. Regardlees, I have seen enough of him and really want to see him play elsewhere. Let him hitsecond or third for either LA team. ...I really don't get the fascination with hitting Duran in the leadoff spot. He's a middle of the order guy on most teams. I get that he's got good speed and decent pop, but he's just a really dumb guy to have hitting leadoff. What'd he have tonight, a triple and 3Ks?
You can't have that in the top of the order.
Idk I have a hard time complaining about him when his first AB of the game led to a run. He had a really good May (.261/.331/.548) and I imagine the .331 OBP for the month was bigger than a lot of the teams (unfortunately)I really don't get the fascination with hitting Duran in the leadoff spot. There's nobody else id want hitting leadoff.I really don't get the fascination with hitting Duran in the leadoff spot. Guys on pace for around 180+Ks this year and his OBP is near the bottom of the roster.

I'd hit Rafaela at the top of the order, but I'm probably splitting hairs. There's nobody else id want hitting leadoff.
He had a phenomenal May. He was good tonight.
Realistically, we'd have a better lineup that we could tinker with. Him being leadoff is the least of our worries.
Duran has earned that spot. Especially after last month.I'd hit Rafaela at the top of the order, but I'm probably splitting hairs.
And you will lose. I like the recent adjustment with the upright bat, which creates a better swing, but he is probably washed. His pitch identification is so poor, I would get his eyes checked, really.Duran has earned that spot. Especially after last month.
Ceddy also strikes out a lot. So its a toss up perhaps.
Ill take my chances with Duran.
They probably all need glasses or a trip to Pearle Vision. And you will lose. I like the recent adjustment with the upright bat, which creates a better swing, but he is probably washed. His pitch identification is so poor, I would get his eyes checked, really.
To add to this, I don't think that is a coaching/driveline issue either. They aren't being coached to have bad plate discipline. It's a talent issue. Has nothing to do with Pete Fatse, Alex Cora, Chad Tracy or whatever driveline putz they have in charge now. When hitting, the idea is to swing at the pitches in the strike zone and don't swing at pitches not in the strike zone. Watching a Red Sox game like last night, seems like half the time their hitters do the complete opposite. Not even sure that Raefela hits more pitches in the strike zone than out.
