Immediate run scored then they remembered they were at Fenway
I really don't get the fascination with hitting Duran in the leadoff spot. Guys on pace for around 180+Ks this year and his OBP is near the bottom of the roster.

He's a middle of the order guy on most teams. I get that he's got good speed and decent pop, but he's just a really dumb guy to have hitting leadoff. What'd he have tonight, a triple and 3Ks?

You can't have that in the top of the order.

Probably true. I see him a number two hitter when he is hitting well. Regardlees, I have seen enough of him and really want to see him play elsewhere. Let him hitsecond or third for either LA team. ...

Idk I have a hard time complaining about him when his first AB of the game led to a run. He had a really good May (.261/.331/.548) and I imagine the .331 OBP for the month was bigger than a lot of the teams (unfortunately)

They just can’t play at Fenway for some reason. Perfectly fine team on the road, an abomination at home. Gotta get the monkey off the back

There's nobody else id want hitting leadoff.

He had a phenomenal May. He was good tonight.

Realistically, we'd have a better lineup that we could tinker with. Him being leadoff is the least of our worries.

I'd hit Rafaela at the top of the order, but I'm probably splitting hairs.

Duran has earned that spot. Especially after last month.

Ceddy also strikes out a lot. So its a toss up perhaps.

Ill take my chances with Duran.
And you will lose. I like the recent adjustment with the upright bat, which creates a better swing, but he is probably washed. His pitch identification is so poor, I would get his eyes checked, really.

They probably all need glasses or a trip to Pearle Vision.

Hes not washed though.

Well, this is just the start of the AL East gauntlet we''re running... okay technically Texas is there too, but still lol.

If we can't win this series against Baltimore, we're not doing it against Tampa or New York for sure, maybe you can pick up games against Toronto or Texas, but yeah, looking more and more like a selling year unfortunately.

Given the month Duran just had you're not gonna mess with that right now. They're forever stuck in neutral as a team though. The only prayer they have is if Crochet/Anthony ever return and perform like last season. Only then could I see some type of resurgence to challenge for a WC spot in the JV American League.

Until then, fire Breslow! Please tell me John Henry is aware of what Kyle Harrison is doing. While making no money. Those are unforgivable trades when you don't want to spend like you used to.

Maybe MLB would allow the Sox to take over the visiting team's clubhouse/dugout this year at Fenway and let the other team take the field first to start the game.

When hitting, the idea is to swing at the pitches in the strike zone and don't swing at pitches not in the strike zone. Watching a Red Sox game like last night, seems like half the time their hitters do the complete opposite. Not even sure that Raefela hits more pitches in the strike zone than out.

To add to this, I don't think that is a coaching/driveline issue either. They aren't being coached to have bad plate discipline. It's a talent issue. Has nothing to do with Pete Fatse, Alex Cora, Chad Tracy or whatever driveline putz they have in charge now.

Fatse was bad but as everyone knew all along firing him wasn't going to turn this group into a murderers row.

This team has very little major league talent in the lineup. And that's on Breslow.

Only question right now is whether they fire Breslow before or after the deadline. I really don't want to give him the chance to hand away minor league talent for another Dustin May type.
