Joonas Korpisalo's first 14 starts

6-8-0

His final 14 starts starting Jan. 8th.

8-1-5

Like he lost 1 of 14 starts in regulation once the calendar turned to 2026. Gave them a .750 pts. %. Their back-up goalie gave them that in the toughest months of the season. Are other teams back-up goalies giving them 3 out of every 4 points in the 2nd half, getting them to a win or overtime 93% of his starts? On a team that wasn't great defensively.

Should they be in a rush to get rid of him to save 2.2 million going to DiPietro when they won't be spending to the 104 mil cap regardless?

And if DiPietro is the issue and you want to keep him off waivers before you can see what he's got, then start next season with 3 goalies. Adding his 812k doesn't matter because the Bruins won't be a cap team and you'd only carry 3 for a portion of the season before making a hard decision, you're allowed to carry 3 goalies on your 23 man roster. Most times they only carry one spare F and one spare D anyways.
Good stats that's what I'm trying to tell the moron that keeps telling me he was average he was better than sway

Ok so why aren’t they using Korpi right now in a trade to get a top player? They have other areas than goalie and there are teams desperate in need of a good goalie, yet somehow he is still here. Surely being better than Swayman they could swing a first round draft pick for a 3million dollar number 1 goalie, right?

Yeah, overall last season he was average. His numbers indicate that.

You can cherry pick portions all you want.

Then carry Korpisalo and DiPietro to start next season and see who earns it. They aren't going to be spending to the cap what difference does it make? There's no one to spend it on.

For sure, but Eklund isn’t chopped liver neither, he’s a decent player in his own right.

Curious why SJ would move on so soon from Eklund, a high recent draft pick who put up solid numbers on a really good cap hit.

Not that good but definitely better than career AHL goalie dipetro who single handly just blew the playoffs for the Providence bruins
He had a 1.96 and a .931SV%

That’s like saying Ullmark blew it for the Senators in the playoffs this year.

What a f***ing odd thing to say, and it’s not even remotely true, either. The juggernaut Bruins scored 6 goals in 4 games.

Dipietro allowed 1 goal and the team got shutout, but yeah, he blew it for Providence.

When he has played in NHL setting what has he done ever? Let me tell you without posting his career statistics he has basically fell on his face he's terrible look it up stop arguing with me and look up the stats from his preseason stint with the bruins if you were the person calling the shots for the bruins seeing what he did in preseason would you put him in there as a backup?

How did he blow the AHL playoffs for Providence? You totally ignored that part, let me know how he was the reason Providence didn’t advance.

Straight from the horses mouth

Thanks for passing that on. I'm not really buying what Grier says though, the 9OA pick isn't that great of value for a player who the Sharks recently drafted and developed. For a team that is expected to make a hard push for this year's playoffs, this trade hurts them. I still think there is a lot more that we don't know about.
