I think he gets $8M +

He could, but it depends on what he wants. Is he looking for one final contract and cashing in or is he looking to compete for a cup as he career winds down. He may have a short list of teams he'd want to play for. I'd think Boston & Washington would in the mix. If Tampa loses Raddysh then they become an interesting spot. They likely couldn't offer the most money, but they're still very much a contender. The current Cup Champions have $12M in cap space and their RHD group features Walker, Chatfield & Nikishin. That could be another attractive spot for Carlson especially when you factor in that he's very much an avid golfer.

How am I supposed to know? According to you 89+ points is the only acceptable good season for EP40 and the Calder and 60+ seasons are bad from ages 20-23

It’s such an egregiously bad take I have nothing else to really say. Scary how many people liked that as well.

But the reputation is set and it’s not worth debating
ELC (very good)

7.35m (65ish points, final 2 seasons on this contract 89P & 100P. Not great production at that number until final 2 years)

11.6m (two consecutive seasons of 15 goals/ 45ish points)

Agree to disagree. I don’t like the gamble or the player. IMO something is clearly wrong between the ears maybe? Even IF he comes to Boston and returns to 65 points, at 11.6m that’s a brutal cap anchor that could set the team back years.

I think because of the cap increases incoming, some fans are juiced up to take huge risks. What happens if Hagens produces on his ELC, what kind of contract will he be looking at? Letourneau? Pastrnak?

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe Pettersson comes to Boston and scores 100 points. I’m not a fan of the risk associated.

With that said I’m done discussing him.

The more and more you look, there's just not a lot of 1C's available or that we could pry from their current team via trade. We have Zacha-Minten-Lindholm-Hagens-Poitras-Kuraly right now. Hagens started out on the wing but maybe we go through the growing pains and start him at center next season. We have Letourneau coming in the next 2-3 years who should slot in at minimum as 3C with potential to be a 2C.

Should we look to just add higher skills on LW and RW and live with the C's we have? What if we added like Barzel and Kyrou into our top 6?

Barzal-Hagens-Pasta
Geekie-Zacha-Kyrou
Barzal and Kyrou are going to cost us some first round picks / Dean / probably Lohrei and others.
Kyrou has a NTC, so he would have to agree to any trade. He had an off year last year, after 3 straight 30 goal seasons and can skate.
I would rather hang onto our younger players and picks and sign UFA's for now.
Someone like McMann would be a nice add.

If the Bruins are running the team around Pasta's feeling we are deep shit. Pasta will be happy just moving up the charts in Bruin scoring history. He loves playing the game over anything else.

I have said it a 100 times he had many chances to win big but like his teammates FAILED! His focus is and should be on earning his very large paycheck, and he is. Not picking the teams roster.
I’m a huge Pastrnak guy so we are 180 degrees apart but that’s not uncommon

Regardless what he thinks his buddies I’m going
Zacha 6/50 & Arvidsson 4/25 on the table

Agree entirely.

My biggest concern is that his injury is his back though, and as I’ve read here and elsewhere…

Show me a young guy with a back injury, and I’ll show you a guy with a back injury for life.

More than most parts of the body, the back just rarely seems to fully get better.
Having busted my back in 2 places in a quad accident ,I feel like I have a say here in this conversation 😆 With a back injury you lose mobility .It's a stiffness you feel daily that needs to be loosed up daily .The muscle that runs along the spine area goes into protect mode when an Injury occurs to the spine area, and that is the toughest part. You have to retrain it to be like "everything is ok".
Some people also just get muscle spasms and have to do things to combat that, like A535,deep heat or heating pads at night .They can also have massages therepy on a regular basis as well.I have to agree here, that it becomes a going issue forever as a person ages.

I’d be satisfied with status quo as it relates to a 1C. EP40 is too expensive to take a chance on his quirky performances. And Wright and Hischier may not be available. Trocheck, at 32, has his warts.

We have young centers with possible first line skills in Hagens and Minton with Letourneau in the on deck circle. Poitras could finally show his potential and compete for a C spot.

Regardless of whom we acquire I don’t see the team exceeding its first round knockout for next season. Strengthen the D and hope the young wingers we signed can generate more goals.
Same - people act like we have Todd Elik & a washed Alexi Zhamarov or Thomas Gradin

Lindholm healthy is a top 6 and Zacha is a top 6

Minten is a 3C already

Get Hagens acclimated at wing to start

I just want to say I’ve agreed with everything they have done with Hagens but more importantly had it before it happened

Yeh I’m popping Tums at 7.5 M and calling Blankenship’s agent at 8 M

Gary Betman rigging that draft (if you think he didn’t you probably think Oswald acted alone) really F’d up their path (Daxon Rudolph )

So, How are you doing @22Brad Park ? I wonder about you after your injury. I hope all is well!

Yes. If he puts up 100 points, he's producing at the level you'd expect for an $11.6M player.

That's not a bargain. That's simply meeting expectations.

If he isn't producing at that level, the contract is automatically a huge overpay.

The risk is extremely high for a position where we already have decent NHL players and several prospects who could still develop into long-term solutions.

He didn’t ask to pick the teams roster. He publicly expressed that he wants to win and that he wants the team to bring in immediate help.

Based off his comments it doesn’t sound like he “will be happy just moving up the charts in Bruins history”

Not saying he will be traded this year, but if the Bruins don’t try to get him immediate help over the next 2-3 years I would assume he’s requesting a trade so he can win a cup.

Pasta is always more concerned about the team win. Anyone who says otherwise is making up shit to try and make David look bad. ....it is pathetic and sad.
