If the reports of him wanting $14M are true.....that's a hard one. Dallas is competing, so they'll want young cost controlled players. I'd imagine whatever package you'd have to send for Robertson would be the same as Robert Thomas. The only way I see you get Robertson without giving up one of Hagens, Minten or Letourneau is by signing him to an OS. The problem there is a $14M OS is going to cost you 4 1st round picks.

Fair way to put it Re: Thomas. I'd give up a lot for Thomas on this team because he's a center.

All that said I'd easily pay 14 mil and 4 1sts for a 26 year old who has been an 100 point, 40 goal guy already. You dream that any of those 1sts become that type of player.

Get creative for once then. There are always ways to get extra cap such as not overspending at the bottom of the lineup, but realistically just because the ask is 14 doesn't mean that's the final number

The entire point of drafting and developing is to find a guy like Robertson.

Just my opinion but if we are going to keep at it with this core group of guys, you can't hoard assets and hope that you hit on one someday. We have traded several picks, and our prospect pool has frankly sucked.

We finally have potential up and coming, don't trade them away and end up starting all over again with no prospects and trying to figure out how to rebuild again

Maybe, I'm also patient and willing to wait, but let's say they are on the team in 10 months, what does that realistically look like? Are they game changers? Are they complimentary?

There's going to be ups and downs, by the time we get consistent play and production maybe Pasta is 33/34 and Mac is 30 with a lot of wear on him.

Lafreniere would be interesting if available. The Bruins have been tied to Trocheck. @neelynugs brought up the Rangers needing a PMD and Schneider being a defenseman that could interest the Bruins.

I'm down w/ Zibanejad. I think he'd slot into top line perfectly. Trocheck is such a Bruins signing it hurts. Would rather have the former, but a 33 y/o proven talent coming from the Rangers gives me Rick Nash PTSD
