Yeah, but how many true F1'sOh I know, I'm just not interested in Knies. Sharks have plenty of forwards right now.
A Knies- Celebrini- Smith top line would be unreal
Not to mention xxx- Misa- Chernyshov 2nd line

Why not Reid and D at 9. Imagine walking away from this draft with Reid and Verhoeff. Which could be possible according to the ESPN mock.Mike Grier just pulled off a masterclass where we get to pick Stenberg and one of the lottery dmen without a consensus 'guy'; which has front offices and fanbases alike melting down. Yet some of you still want to draft Reid over Stenberg?![]()
I think the reason Grier doesn’t want to trade down to 4 anymore is the smoke that Vancouver won’t take Malhotra and will take Reid.If it’s Reid they like, why is he turning down the trade offers coming in from the teams 3-5 that according to insiders are all trying to trade up to 2 to take Stenberg now?
Like Hodge said you could get pretty good odds now if you are so confident that is the pick, and they will only probably be going up heading into tomorrow.
It wouldn't be a bad thing, but there are a lot of moving parts, and the Sharks aren't 1W away from contention. They need to build up the defensive pipeline, and if you trade #9 for him, then it changes the priorities on what to do with #2. If they did trade #9 for him I wouldn't be upset though, it just adds to the challenge of obtaining defensemen.Yeah, but how many true F1's

If we take Reid 2, none of the top D get to 9 imo. Chase Reid going 4 or 5 buys us timeWhy not Reid and D at 9. Imagine walking away from this draft with Reid and Verhoeff. Which could be possible according to the ESPN mock.

Unfortunately, I have zero doubt that they have fans thinking exactly that.Leafs fans are probably like: "What would SJ need to add to #2 to get Knies?"
Misa, the 2ndoa + for Knies & RiellyUnfortunately, I have zero doubt that they have fans thinking exactly that.
They certainly can be delusional
If you're just going to draft Stenberg at 2, I don't see why you wouldn't trade it for Knies. He's a bigger and better version of what Stenberg might be.Nothing on the leafs to even build a package on. If they somehow acquire a top pair D then sure.
Knies is someone I would trade 9 for, not 2.
I know. I tend to swing over there to get a good laughCan be?
Just the other day a few were convinced they were getting the 9 OA for Reilly.
Not really. If we go Reid at 2, it falls out this way:If we take Reid 2, none of the top D get to 9 imo. Chase Reid going 4 or 5 buys us time
Depends on how you define "top", but as long as Bjorck goes somewhere in the top 8, there will be a defenseman at 9 just based on simple math. And if not, I have zero issue taking Bjorck at 9.If we take Reid 2, none of the top D get to 9 imo. Chase Reid going 4 or 5 buys us time
Why? There seem to be 4 FWs that are locks to go before 9. At that point it just takes one team to pick Rudolph or Cullen before the other 4 D. Or just trade up to grab Verhoeff. If we take Reid 2, none of the top D get to 9 imo. Chase Reid going 4 or 5 buys us time

If the Sharks walked away with Reid and Verhoeff they could trade away the whole rest of their draft for all I care.
We have 3 ourselves
2 in the top 10
Stl ought to be targeting Van
Watching them in the trade section touting his years old 70+ points seasons and how he just needs a change of scenery contrasts so hilariously with how they shit all over how bad and washed he is in the leafs sectionsCan be?

Well there it is…
Knies and Stenberg are very different playersIf you're just going to draft Stenberg at 2, I don't see why you wouldn't trade it for Knies. He's a bigger and better version of what Stenberg might be.
Is that how Cherny got sunburned last year before the actual combine? From Sheng he figured out the other two mystery dinner dates! Edit: wait maybe not this could just be regular interviews, my bad.
“Speaking of the Combine, SJHN was able to confirm on Thursday that the San Jose Sharks interviewed Oliver Suvanto and Ilia Morozov there.
Meanwhile, Nikita Klepov, who was not at the Combine, said that he had spoken with the Sharks a couple times, including at the Gold Star camp in Florida last week. The Gold Star camp, agent Dan Milstein’s brainchild, is a pre-Draft showcase mostly for Russian prospects.”

Stenberg, Rudolph Would Be Excited To Join Sharks (+)
BUFFALO — The San Jose Sharks have three first-round picks today…we’ll see if that’s the case tomorrow. But as of Thursday morning, the Sharks have the No. 2, 9, and 27 picks in the 2026 Draft. Ivar Stenberg appears to be headed to San Jose at No. 2, despite GM Mike Grier’s parrying. “Everything...sanjosehockeynow.com
