For the Pronman haters (@weastern bias -- I can't remember if it was you or someone else who said Pronman is the guy who is an ass and thinks he's going to get 100 on the test but gets 50, and Wheeler is the nice dork who thinks he's going to get 50 and gets 100)

but this was a lolworthy exchange from this article from athletic debating the top 4. Wheeler definitely comes across more compelling here, which is rough for me because my "list" looks more like Pronman's. Big Yikes.

God Wheeler just sounds way more informed. Kinda funny these guys have to work together so frequently, would be fun for them to have more rivalry

wheeler seems talk down to pronman like a he's an idiot or something in their pod. they seem to fight and disagree a lot especially in this draft lol. interesting dynamics with CP and the other as the ref.

Boy, I feel like I’m seeing Gustafsson falling to the teens in more and more pretty well-researched mocks lately. If he’s available at 14 (or Hemming at 17 for that matter) I’d be pounding the proverbial table to move up for them. Especially when staying at 20 lands us… that.
My dream scenario is trading to NYR for a package involving #5, and #26. Take Verhoeff with #5 and then package #20 and #26 and move up to take Gustafsson. But I'm higher than most on Verhoeff.

Better yet would be getting #3 and #24 somehow from Vancouver. Just can't see that happening. Not that the above would happen either, but a little more realistic.

I’m emotionally expecting that 20th pick to be traded for a defenseman…

I don't see it as “glazing as you do. Reid brings a lot of the qualities that provide a high ceiling. For example his skating, his passing and his vision. Add to that, he’s big and right handed.
I want him to be drafted, not because he’s the best overall but the best defenseman. Is that worth the second overall pick? I think so.
I think it was glazing because it didn't really mention any significant weaknesses

I've been seeing this as well. I bet Grier will consider moving up like he did for Dickinson. If we get Reid, and one of Gustafsson or Lin, it would go a long way toward building the d core.

I could also see us trading pick 20 and a couple of prospects/picks for a top 4 dman that's ready now. If we go that route, it better be for someone better than what's been going around. It's tiresome seeing the Sharks in the rumor mill for every other team's cap dump, aging vet dman.

Basically my opinion is that the team shouldn't rush the rebuild, but we need to focus on quality over quantity.

My 'grounded/realistic' dream scenario is trade down to #4 and acquire one of CHI's 2027 1sts + a 2nd (they have 7 over next 3). I'd prefer trading for future assets over this year, since teams like EDM/FLA aren't guaranteed to rebound like everyone expects so the pick value could decently fluctuate. The picked D-man is going to be in the minors anyhow, and then Grier can re-assess the roster come 2027 with now two 1sts + 2nd, and an expectation of a top prospect joining the team.

Also gives sharks ammo if someone very good becomes available.

To me it’s the other way around…..Wheeler is more level headed and easier to talk to, while Pronman takes it more personal when you don’t agree with him, and is on the verge of trying to hold in a stress attack.

Another interesting perspective. Sharks could end up with 2 top 10 D.

Just to keep it consistent with the Stenberg... Sharks could have 3 of the top 6 forwards. (I'm good with Stenberg or D. Hopefully small trade down if taking Def.)

💯

That kid has no credentials. He is literally your average HF poster with a YouTube channel. Any top 10 list off the main boards is just as credible.

His videos are him going on to hockeydb and reading off the stat lines.

At least he doesn't exclusively wear a backwards hat in his videos, but that's the extend of his credentials.

Can't imagine these guys are making more than pennies off add revenue, but I do respect the love of the game.

A few do make end up making it.

Any discussion on pick 62?

I'd love to see us draft Vladimir Dravecky. Have followed his game for a little while now, think he has some nice upside, RHD and will the go-to in Guelph next year as he was traded from Brantford this past week. Needs time, but could be a neat piece.

It's pick 62nd so not really but a guy I think could be on the radar is Luke Schairer. His profile is similar to Logan Hensler who Grier reportedly attempted to trade up for.
