Legit though this was Shattenkirk for a second.
Drury exercising Rangers organizational perestroikaFive years from now Drury will be telling him to tear down his no movement clause.
lolol
I blame Ed and his love of Russian picks, specifically this:

definitely some bangers in there. i lost it reading McKenna. massive comedic brain dumpHis write up on Verhoeff sent me
"they say he is the next Evan Bouchard, including being an idiot but he still has some skill"
I didn't know Gorbachev and Guy LaFleur had a baby.
Damn I didn't realize we lost our own good 2nd round pick this year in the trade where we paid to dump Nemeth 4 years ago. That sucks.

It’s absolutely true. Farm workers have ridiculous strength. But so do life long wrestlers, roofers, and other guys who have worked for decades with their whole bodies. I did roofing. Strongest I ever got, carrying 75 pound packs of shingles up ladders… the guys I knew who did it for many years were f***ing BEASTS, but a lot of them got broken down from doing it TOO long. These days I see cherry pickers being used to get the shingles up there. Spoiled!Soon after college I was working in an office. We were having some arm wrestling contests during our lunch hour. I was big in to weight lifting back then and was winning my matches. I was in my early 20's. I went up against a grampa nerdy looking guy who was probably around 55 at that time. I thought it would be easy. Guy demolished me. Tommy Thomson another young guy in to weight lifting told me, "you had no chance. He has farm strength from throwing around hay bales on his ranch". That was the first time I ever heard that term but I never forgot it. Really taught me a lit about judging a book by its cover as well.

I heard he skipped the combine because he had shit to take care of for his family on the farm. This is the first I am hearing about "lingering effects." This sounds like Pronman clickbait. If he had "lingering effects" he would not have played any more games.
I've seen him ranked anywhere from 5-15. I haven't actually watched him play other than some highlights, but he's definitely climbing.Rather Smits over Carels
If Klepov looked like Danny Devito, Jovo would be passing over him like Steven Hawking at a River Dance tryout.lolol

Yea it’s also odd so many people here are just ignoring that MAJOR issue. It’s a major red flag nowDidn't know that this was the reason he missed the Combine.
Flag up.
This is great. Thank you.My top 32 for the 26 Draft.
Personal Wishlist for #5 Stenberg, or Carels.
Personal wishlist for#26 Klepov (Likely gone, but potential to trade up). Shilov, Morozov, Bleyl
- Ivar Stenberg - Most complete forward in the draft class, as well as the most fierce competitor.
- Gavin McKenna - Most dynamic player in the draft class, capable of 100Pt seasons.
- Carson Carels - Best overall Defenseman in the class. Hybrid player.
- Chase Reid - Best offensive defenseman in the class.
- Caleb Malhotra - Most complete Center in the class, with NHL Pedigree.
- Viggo Bjorck - Highly cerebral Center, with tremendous skill level and soft hands.
- Nikita Klepov - Impact forward gets no love, yet is one of the most dangerous players in the class
- Keaton Verhoff - Massive RHD with a booming point shot is safest pick out of all the Defenseman but is he a ¾ or a ½.
- Albert Smits - Cool, calm, collected on the ice. Will be a minute munching dman. Not sold on the physicality and the Swifty thing irritates me.
- Daxon Rudolph - Least talked about among the Big Dmen of the 26 class, but for the overall package can’t keep him out of the top 10.
- Tynan Lawrence – Slick skating two-way pivot falls just outside of the 10OA. Bounce back candidate for the 26/27 Season
- Ethan Belchetz – Giant sized power forward with good hands around the net has left some wanting more.
- Malte Gustafsson – Safest pick in the mid 1st round. Tall Rangy Dman, with mobility and a good stick.
- Yegor Shilov – Wizard with the puck on his stick. Among the most dynamic skilled Centers in the draft, but lacks complete game.
- Alexander Command- Swedens top center at the U-18’s, is a responsible two-way pivot.
- Adam Novotny- Big Czech, that plays a NA style game on the wing.
- Ilia Morozov – Big bodied two-way pivot has a lot of runway.
- Wyatt Cullen- Deceptive winger plays RW/LW has tremendous creativity, and exceptional speed.
- Tommy Bleyl – Lethal PP Quarterback, is a tremendous skater and dangerous with the puck.
- Oliver Suvanto – 6’3 Center is a workhorse, and can dominate physically but lacks scoring touch.
- Marcus Nordmark – Swedish Winger has the size and the skills to become a top 6 forward.
- Maddox Dagenais - 6’4 Center with great hands and an NHL Pedigree.
- Oscar Hemming – Finnish Power forward made the jump to BC. He's a bull in a chinashop.
- Xavier Villenueve – Maybe the most athletic of the undersized Dmen, but is also the most highly skilled offensively.
- Liam Ruck- Top notch goal scorer, top notch puck hound.
- William Hakansson- Swedish Gavrikov
- JP Hurlbert- U Michigan bound, Right Handed forward has a quick release, and great instincts.
- Elton Hermansson – Creative and gifted winger ranks top 5 with Central Scouting EU skaters.
- Mathis Preston- Arguably the fastest player in the 26 draft, was slowed down due to a knee. If he rebounds, this season he will be a tremendous late first round selection.
- Sigmas Ignatavicius- Rugged Lithuanian power forward has underrated skills.
- Ryan Lin- Undersized offensize Defenseman with a great Hockey IQ lacks high end skating.
- Brooks Rogowski – Gi-Normous natural center draws Brian Boyle Comparisions
AhahahahaI believe you. I never would have guessed this guy was that strong. He was not that big. He seemed old and nerdy at the time. When I say he destroyed me I mean it was not even a contest. It was over as soon as it began. In those days I was benching around 250 pounds but I may as well have been a 90 pound lady. I learned my lesson. Before we fight let me just ask you do not happen to own a ranch do you lol?![]()
“HAD to be a concussion”? Bullshit. Hahaha. That’s one view and a HUGE assumption. Another view not requiring any special knowledge is that it didn’t really matter if he was there. The kid is getting drafted top 5 (10 at “worst”) regardless AND getting the maximum entry level contract when he turns pro. Exactly WHAT is the negative impact of him not attending? He doesn’t get to show off? For Verhoeff it was important to him because he felt slighted. For Bjork it was important because in person he’s not as “small” as he was being made out to be. For Carels? Inconsequential. EXACTLY HOW does it negatively affect his career? No free dinners? Didn’t Brady Martin skip it last year for similar reasons? Guess he was concussed as well. HAD TO BE!!!If true this would literally be the dumbest and most ridiculous thing ever. It had to be because of a concussion.
Skipping the draft to be with family is one thing (though I think that’s also silly to be honest). The combine is really important and this is the kid’s future. That’s flat out selfish by the parents if true.
That’s like skipping orientation and class enrollment at the college you plan to attend. If his parents could afford his hockey career they can survive without him on the farm for a few days. How do they survive during his junior season?
These kids don’t grow up on Dust Bowl farms. They’re large industrial farms with likely dozens of workers. Brady Martin likely grew up with more money than a huge chunk of the kids he played against growing up. The show would go on if a few people took off for a couple of days.
That's 100 % what's up. Farm strength is real. You can see it in Carels defensive highlights, throwing opponents away.
Imo a steal at 5.
