Japan does beat Tunisia 4-0.

Netherlands stay ahead due to goals scored tiebreaker (7gf, 3ga for Netherlands while Japan is 6gf, 2ga).

Netherlands has Tunisia left. Japan still to play Sweden.

Tunisia becomes the 3rd team eliminated.

Assuming this means Netherlands, Japan and Sweden will advance from the group?

All three teams have at least one big win until their belts.

Assuming my Dutch dont sleep walk through Tunisia, it'll be them and whoever wins the Japan Sweden game. Looking like Japan.
I’m confident/hopeful/praying they don’t sleepwalk against Tunisia. Will be interesting to see the Dutch lineup, I’m thinking Big Virg and Frankie will not start. I expect Lang to get some time too

They and Japan have pretty much clinched considering their goal differential.

Sweden can still take the group if they beat Japan and Netherlands tie or lose to Tunisia, which seems implausible. Tunisia is the worst team at this World Cup.

Unfortunately, poor Tunisia will likely get pumped by The Netherlands because if Japan beats Sweden the tiebreaker is goal differential/goals scored.

The final games are played at the same time, so The Netherlands will be motivated to play for first.

For whatever reason, The Netherlands Group F will not play a 3rd place team next round. 1F plays 2C and 2F plays 1C.

That means Brazil or Morocco unless Scotland can pull off an upset and beat Brazil. The final C games are played the day before the final F games.

I mean for Group F, you'd almost want to be in Sweden's position, as currently they play Norway. I would take them over Brazil or Morocco.

Sweden sits as the best 3rd place team due to goal differential and goals scored.

Today's games affect Canada as we're currently setup to face "3rd place" Belgium in group G.

We'd want a Belgium win over Iran to get the Belgians out of the #3 spot.

Certainly, Spain will be under a lot of pressure to get a win against Saudi Arabia after their draw against Capo Verde.

Get ready for a very boring and low score Canada vs Swiss game. Canada finish 1st if they get a tie and Swiss need a 1 goal win to be first. So Canada will play max defense until they get scored on and if that happen Swiss will go full defense themselves. Its very unlikely either teams score a lot of goals. Its gonna be a 0-0 or 1-1 type of game.

Future star? Or already a star?

One thing...easier said than done...but that pass could not have been intercepted by the goalie?

Morocco is a really talented side. It sucks that this group doesn't get a 3rd place team.

Fifa has definitely set it up, so all 3 hosts have fairly decent draws next round as long as they win their group.

What do you mean by ''doesn't get a 3rd place team''?

I'm not looking at permutations it's incredibly convoluted at this point.

Majority of 1st place teams will play a 3rd place seeded team in next round. For instance, Canada, USA & Mexico will all face 3rd place teams in round of 32.

The top 2 teams in each grouping goes onto next round. Plus, eight of twelve 3rd place teams to make 32.

That means eight first place teams will play a 3rd place seeded team in Round 32, but 4 will play a 2nd place team.

For Group F & Group C, the top 2 teams will play each other next round: 1 vs 2. That's Brazil & Morocco (Group C) vs Netherlands and Japan (Group F).
