2026-27 Ottawa Projected Lineup - Darkhorse?

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Yeah I'm a Sens fan and the answer is probably not. Why post now anyway? Every roster is likely to change slightly until October.

With good team structure, the team will be competitive but will lack firepower against the top contenders. Similar to last year.

You are banking a lot on Zetterlund becoming more than a 30-40 point guy, and Eklund becoming more than a 50-60 point guy putting them on your top line.

Between that and Pinto as your 2C i'd say that top6 needs some work still, or else hope all 3 guys have career years.

That's a decently talented forward group but way too soft and not enough battle tested playoff vets. They'd be wise to add some size and experience, or they will get pushed around with ease and get swept again if they somehow make it with that group.

No. That's a league average offense. Last year they were a bubble team-in (the playoffs). There isn't much reason to expect notable internal improvements among existing players. The only changes are a downgrade from Tkachuk to Eklund and a downgrade from a year younger Giroux to a year older Giroux. So if you're asking for a projection today, it's bubble team-out. To make noise, a forward would have to be added who would become the best or second best on the team.

Giroux probably will leave with Brady gone. But that's the softest forward group I've ever seen. Comparable to the gomez Gionta Cammalleri Habs.

Giroux playing for Ottawa has nothing to do with Brady, what is this take?

He lives in Ottawa full time lol. In Staios' press conference after he traded Brady he said Giroux was in the building working out, even though he doesn't have a contract yet.

FYI July 3rd when 95% of trades and UFA signings are completed is when you do this type of thread.

He isn't gonna play for a non-playoff team he'll probably just retire.
