I thought there was some iffy penalty calls on Canada in this game as Czechia eliminates Team Canada for the 2nd straight year with a late goal on another PP with just 39 seconds left in the 3rd period to win 4-3

..and a Crosby fan lost his cool afterwards .....and his jersey

Holy crap, I knew Team Canada was taking too many penalties in this tourney, but didn't realize they had that many penalty minutes

Lack of discipline killed them (although some penalties tonight were a little iffy)

I never want to see Dave Cameron behind the Team Canada bench again

Did nothing to stop the parade to the penalty box. In a tournament like this, he could afford to cut his bench and upset some players. Even if Gibson's "kneeing" penalty shouldn't of been a penalty, the fact he decided to be uber-aggressive in that time and situation when Canada had all the momentum, shows the clear lack of discipline on this year's Canadian team.

lack of discipline, lack of chemistry and zero identity. Not sure I`ve seen a TC with less identity, not one energy guy/line, one of the least inspiring lineups I`ve watched and I said it from game 1 vs Finland.

Anyways, still my fav tourney, I`ll keep on watching til the end

Before Gibsons hit Canada had tilted the ice and had momentum.

People need to get a life. Getting that intense over a tournament is shameful.

4 nations should be a blast

Felt like only a matter of time before they would score again and make it 4-3 Canada. Gibson went for the big splashy hit at an inappropriate time and it backfired.
yep, I get it, teenager beyond pumped up, 18,000 going nutso, problem is, this wasn`t just an isolated incident for TC , they were in the box all tournament long

This one will be remembered for whomever selected this team being waaaaaaaaaaaay off in what was needed to win this tournament or at least compete which they didn`t do

In one sense I can see why you'd want to bring a different looking team to a WJC in Canada when compared to what you'd want to bring when the tournament is held in Europe. Try to inject more aggression and physicality and feed off the home crowd.

Problem is the tournament is officiated very tightly theses days and pretty much any big hit or collision now results in some sort of penalty. If the ref even smells a big hit, they immediately call a 5 min. major so they can go to their little tablets and overanalyze it in slow-motion, which almost always results in at least a 2 min. minor if not a major.

At least when you bring firepower bring all your best.Leaving Misa off that roster was laughable.

while I agree with your first paragraph, this is not in fact what TC did, this was not a team of players who had a shut down line, had an energy line then had two lines relied on producing most of the offence. This was a super soft TC team as far as players whose natural instinct is to play with any physicality

When the team was announced, the only players I knew much about were a few WHL players so I couldn`t really comment on what or how I felt about the team but having watched them now, it appears to me the approach was to try to stack the lineup with guys who score, problem is, most of these guys do it for their respective teams and are looked at as THE man, only one puck to go around

Again, even after watching their first game vs Finland, I recognized many worrisome issues, the biggest, zero identity, I couldn`t pinpoint one line that as a coach, you could tap on the shoulder and go make life miserable for the other team as far as energy, physicality.

Quick look at say the 2013 squad, Camara, Danault, Rattie brought that energy, 2017, Nick Roy, Blake Speers brought that energy, even in a losing cause in 2003 in Halifax, Tootoo, Scottie Upshall, our old friend Soupy was on that team, the emphasis was not solely on scoring it was truly on a balanced roster, now, they didn`t win it all but at least they had an identity, this team was creampuff city from game 1

They were definitely a smaller team than some of the European clubs like Slovakia and Czechia. Still, they took a lot of needless penalties trying to play on the edge. Lots of cross-checks up high, etc.

Other years they brought the well defined top 6/bottom 6 and were criticized for not bringing more skill and talent.

Ultimately I think this team was just poorly coached and undisciplined. Cameron didn't reign-in the stupidity and didn't get the most out of his players. Trying desperately all tournament to get all 4 lines going when he should of just leaned on the guys who were going and left the guys who weren't sitting on the bench watching. These kids were all top players from their club teams used to big minutes and lots of touches.

many questions will need to be answered about the composition of this roster that`s for sure
