Wouldn't say Luchanko is a likely cut. They only have four cuts to make up front and I would guess they would be comfortable having him on the 4th line if need be.

Luchanko is the fifth youngest player, including one goalie and one D-man from the 2025 draft.
Only 2 months older than Martone. And of course, McKenna.

He's probably salivating at the thought of playing with talented wingers.

I said Luchanko is most likely to get cut out of the 4 Flyer prospects but he could very well make it. He's one of the younger players and there will be lots of options. They must like all these guys, because the cut a LOT of very good players (as always) to get down to this 32.

I know Barkey was last cut last year but I think he’s probably a bubble guy again. Canada always used to only take two goalies but if they take three again Bjarnason is likely safe given he’s repped Canada before at the major tournaments and played well in the summer.

Luchanko making the cut as an ‘06 given who they already ‘cut’ is an accomplishment but sometimes (a lot of time!) they are political with “NHL” players. Still he plays the safe two way game they tend to prefer from younger players so he can play bottom of the lineup and kill penalties so that helps. Also a Center.

Agreed. Both Barkey and Luchanko could be left off if they decide they've got enough smaller guys and want the Beaudoins and Ritchies instead.

Corey Pronman put Jett at 3C and Barkey at 4LW, if that reassures you... LOL!

Luchanko is small? Probably pushing 6'0 and 190+ at this point, that's pretty big for junior hockey.

He was 5'11 187 at the Combine, at 17 (didn't turn 18 until August) so it's likely he's added an inch and 5-10 lbs since then.

Luchanko doesn't impress in the CHL. I mean he has just a couple points more than Michkov had in the same number of games. But NHL is a bit tougher than CHL...
He's also on a terrible team, same as Ciernak and Knuble.
Trade him to London or another top team and watch his scoring take off.

Michkov has mostly played with not the best NHLers either...

Far be it from me to praise the Flyers undesired skill level, but Michkov has exclusively played with top 6 and middle 6 NHL talent.

The more apt example is Sochi being the worst team in the KHL his draft year and one of the worst his D+1. Future stars simply produce. If the argument is complementary depth players need more help and are situation dependent, I’m on board with that. But then that requires another admission.
