It's one thing to have a team that lacks offensive skill because of the type of players avaliable, it's another thing to have offensive players avaliable and willingly pass on them. This team was built in a deliberate manner and it's not working at all.

Canada's B team surely could do better right now. Its just frustrating to watch. I don't blame the players, I blame the staff who put these guys in this position from their selection to usage.

Honest question, why was he chosen as coach? Surely the tournament being in Ottawa wasn't a factor. Hockey Canada should always be going for coaches who are more modern and adaptable. It's a short tournament and the ability to adjust on the fly and motivate the team is crucial.

I know that draft pedigree doesn't mean everything. But a guy like Sennecke is a consensus top 10 pick and goes 3rd overall. Cole Beaudoin is a later 1st rounder and gets picked ahead of him for this team. Beaudoin based on draft position odds may never make the show. Sennecke is almost assured to. Why do the braintrusts at TC think they are smarter than all those NHL scouts.

Not to mention Tanner Howe a mid 2nd rounder.
