You can call it what you want, but more and more I see the de evolution of hockey Canada 🇨🇦 at these World Juniors tournaments.

Canada used to be known for their hard working teams. Talented players that would (and could) do anything for the team. Slowly and gradually that’s been weeded out of our identity. I suppose it’s a reflection of societal norms; as a buddy of mine once said, “you can always tell when the AAA kids are playing, because the vehicles in the rink parking lots are worth about 3 times more than usual.”

There’s a lot of truth in that statement IMO. Now I feel like I’m watching a bunch of well heeled kids, who’ve been given every advantage possible, and the hunger/desire is negligible. Would rather be cutesy on the outside than do the dirty work and go to the hard areas.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I watch this Latvian team which has about a million percent less of a budget, in Canada no less, outworking the Canadians consistently, and I can’t help but wish the Canadian players had more of that in their system.

Feldbergs is steady. Undrafted 19 year old. Draft him, he can probably play another year in Q as 20 year old than AHL or ECHL after that. See where he's at.
