Canada just released their camp roster. No Lardis which isn’t surprising.

These names? Surprising…

Zayne Parekh (CGY)
Carter Yakemchuk (OTT)
Beckett Sennecke (ANA)
Tij Iginla (UTA)

USA should be coming shortly

Its a little surprising Parekh isn't at least invited, but I'm not upset about it at all. Never been a fan of his game. Very surprising about Sennecke and Iginla. Sennecke missed a lot of time this year to begin the year, but he has been on fire lately. OHL goal scoring leader and draft eligible Misa also not invited.

Barkey and Cowan should be automatic. Put them together on a line, their chemistry is unreal.

US is only going to cut one forward from the camp roster so Spellacy may very well be on the team

I'm actually surprised Team Canada's weird pride didn't get in the way of including the GOAT Andrew Cristall

Yeah they brought 15 to camp, 14 will 'make the team', but one of those will be an injury replacement (it's not like a healthy scratch where you can rotate guys in and out during the group stages, it's a replacement meaning the injured player would be done for the tournament if the 14th forward/8th defenseman is activated).

That rule is apparently changed this year. You can rotate the players freely

Not surprised to see Lardis not get an invite. No knock on him, just better junior top-6 options for Canada at the moment. Glad Spellacey got an invite.

Jiri Felcman and Janne Peltonen should round out the Hawks participants.

I know Felcman hasn't produced at any level but I still recall his first camp here thinking he really didn't look out of place at all. He might just be too vanilla to establish himself as a true NHL prospect going forward but I'm interested to see how he'll look in this tournament.
