A city that doesn’t exist

Shocked Brighton cut ties this quickly. EPL was always going to be hard for him to make it there. Still a top talent, hopefully he can get on track and progress.

Well if he goes Strasbourg he’s Chelsea’s

Teling them to f*** off. Good boy. You can have my fat nephew on a free.
Tel said “Lads, it’s Tottenham”

Couple things city got the wrong player. (Nico is good too)

And he should be in Barca while frenkie somewhere else.

That’s a good spot for him. He’s having a very strong season. Don’t know that his ceiling is higher than Varela’s but only one way to find out

Oh man, that 30 million really changes the conversation, but if they’re easy then maybe not so much. Still, that contract until 2027…. Really makes it confusing. I would have thought they just “pay” for Gloukh at the end of the season, but as you say they could well be desperate considering how this season is going.
Fabrice Hawkins, who's usually really reliable, says the 30 are particularly easy to reach.

@Evilo. Not seeing Ndour’s sale just yet. Who bought him? Besiktas?
Torino

Stefan Bajcetic loan to Salzburg has been terminated. He will be loaned out again (immediately) to Las Palmas. Has had a bad recovery from his injury that kept him out basically all of last year. Probably not a great sign that LFC don’t think they can use him right now because there are certainly minutes for him. Apparently they want to give James McConnell a run though

Bajcetic is looking like he might be following the Ibe/Ojo/Grujic/Markovic/Wilson/etc. pipeline of overhyped LIverpool youth products
Yeah it’s a shame but happens all the time. Bad injury bad loans new managers with different ideas. This is hardly exclusive to LFC though. But That’s why you just have to keep the pipeline strong.

A couple of those guys carved out nice careers though. And Bajcetic still only 20 so he has has time but a lot of this is amplified because we stayed out of the transfer market for a midfielder because we didn’t want to block him

Weird list NGL, most of them never played for the academy or were not developed by LFC.

Ibe, was no doubt over hyped and LFC made out like bandit by selling him. Mental health issue might have played a role.

Markovic was not a 'youth product', he was purchased at a high cost to be an impact player for the first team and never step a foot in the academy and he was horrible and one of the worst purchase in LFC history.

Nobody rated Harry Wilson that highly outside Merseyside, IMO he has made a pretty good career and even better than some projected him to be. He can be proud of what he has achieved IMO. Maybe even a bargain for Fulham.

Ojo was also not truly rated, he was the best out of an horrible academy at that time. I highly doubt any LFC supporter even considered him for the first team.

Grujic was also not that highly rated too, he was not an academy product either, Klopp first purchased for LFC but his progress stalled and it was obvious he did not had the quality. He still had a decent career all things considered.

Now if you want the real overhyped prospect here they are: Rhian Brewster, Ben Woodburn, Ki-Jana Hoever these players were massively overhyped and significantly under performed their hype/expectation.

As for Bajcetic, I still have faith but maybe not under Slot. He is more of traditional ball winning DM than a ball carrier/progressive that Slot seem to want for his midfield. I would not be surprised if he has a decent career at some mid table la liga club eventually.

Again some good players from the academy that have had decent career like TAA, Curtis Jones, Neco Williams, Raheem Sterling, Sepp Van den Berg, Pedro Chirivella, Suso. Not always bad.

Woodburn. Found 15 full pages of posts mentioning him on this board with the search function.
Was never a Woodburn guy. Just did not have a position. Also a bunch of your Woodburn hits on search are in the UFC threads, and some Curt (IYKYK) posts so….

Brewster’s knee also exploded which was the biggest reason he flamed out.

It was off the top of my head but lol at saying Grujic doesn’t count but sepp does. There are two players there that spent more than two years in Liverpool’s youth system. Jones and TAA.

Not sure what Aston Villa are doing, Ornstein says that they have agreed with Al-Nassr for an 80 million Euro bid for Jhon Duran. No idea why they are selling him, a 21-year-old who has been as good as he has this season. This is off the backs of selling Douglas Luiz and Moussa Diaby last season as well. Very weird moves for a club trying to establish dominance as a top 6 team both in England and Europe.

If that happens, no way they sell Watkins AND Duran in the same window.

E: Also, if Al-Nassr completes the Duran deal, the Boniface move is off.
It's just the course with dealing with PSR/FFP/SCR rules.

I know he is gone now, but with Duran, there was always smoke about him moving every transfer window. Reportedly a lot of the squad had been disappointed with his actions and other things. I don't think there's any realistic way we could've turned down the bid for him with all that being said + he has an extremely low sample size.

For all the disappointments, Jones, and especially Trent have hit so high they’ve more or less made up for it.

The search was limited to this board.

At least with these players rejecting Spurs it makes that bald f*** Levy look stupid. Gross negligence has led us here. He deserves everything that is happening. I just feel bad for the fans and the team.
