Transfer: 2025 Winter Transfer Window - Rumors and Discussion

It's not ideal but we haven't had a striker that consistently bangs in goals for ages. We need someone who can score and do it now, if its the missing piece for getting some silverware I'd do it despite the inflated price.
Right it makes sense if you're thinking there's a window in the next couple years to snatch a title, which, looking around the league would seem to be a perfectly reasonable assumption.

I mean, it's not like we're talking "1st for Gaustad" territory here.

Exactly my thought process.

In an ideal world you sign Tel and he proves he can score in the now while also being a great bet for the future. It's just risky for a team that is in the best window of oppurtunity they have had in well over a decade now.

Xavi Simmons sold to RBL for 81M€.
Good deal for PSG IMO.

Danso from Lens to Juventus.

Also Villa interested in Marco Asensio.

Good deal for both. He's been a star for Leipzig, but I'm not sure he'll ever sell for (much) more than this.

Risky is sometimes just another word for Bold. Tel would be a great buy for Arsenal whether he was playing next to kai or platooning with him. But I rate Tel a lot & still think that Bayern f***ed up by spending so much on Kane instead of just empowering Tel the way they empowered Musiala.

Pavlovic coming out of nowhere looking like the second coming of Busquets, certainly eases the pain of not pouncing on Tchoumeni when Real was considering selling him to them.

...but that's a "why not both" thing; where Bayern would be a lot tougher with Tel + Tchoumeni + a better partner for Upamecano, than they are with Kane + Pahlinha + Kim.

Boniface is 2.5 years younger than Gyokeres, and 2.5 years older than Sesko. I thought it was a bigger gap, but that's still not nothing when these guys are already this good. Either way, looks like Leverkusen will hold onto Boniface now.

Haha, this is where I go “and?” Again, not sure why you’re mentioning Sesko at all. I also acknowledged the age difference in the post you quoted and while it’s not nothing it’s also not everything.

Not sure if this is a good thing for Bayer or not.

Wow. Good deal indeed. Also, doesn’t seem to be a RBLesque transfer at that fee.

I feel like RBL is going to try to spin him as soon as the summer.

—Barca have sold Unai Hernandez for almost 5 million to Al Wherever. He was in the last year of his contract, so I’m guessing no additional clauses even though he said he wants to come back some day.
—Not sure if it’s been signed yet, but Gavi has agreed a new deal which will run to 2030. As I said a week or so back, Pedri should be soon as well.
—Some talk of De Jong now at the table with Barca. He apparently wants the same wage which I assume is his standard wage and not that with the deferred wages. Curious where the club goes with this.
—Inigo Martinez should get another year from the club as well. Not against this, but it should be a on a bit of a reduced wage I would think considering his age.
—Rumors that Christensen wants to go and now he’s injured yet again.

I wouldn’t rule that out, but to who and for how much considering they just dropped 81 million on him. Less than that and I might agree with you, but at this price I think it’s unlikely.

Pedri extended.

If they extend frenkie and don’t have a buyer I’d be cheesed off. He has no place starting in the team anymore.

They’ll find someone and/or there will be a release clause in there. RBL never has a problem selling. They’ll turn the roster over

All things considered, too early to make a judgement on him. Besides, I’m not sure he gets sold. I think it’s an extension or he walks for nothing.

Again though, we’re talking 81 million (which makes no sense because they just paid that) or likely more. So who does that realistically leave? PSG? They just sold him. Bayern? No. La Liga clubs? No. So a Premiership side. Assuming PSR is sorted, IMO that leaves only a couple of clubs. Had they paid notably less than 81 million I’d be more inclined to agree with you, and I’m not ruling at the possibility even at 81 million, but I see it as highly unlikely.

We will see. There is going to be some musical chairs this summer. Some one will find a way. Probably PL. But if Musiala or Wirtz goes that’s another spot in Germany too. Just depends on what dominos fall

I look at it like this:

—If Leipzig paid 81 million for him now, how much will someone have to pay in the Summer to get him?
—After you’ve committed to how much he might cost, then who can afford that?

I think you’ll find that very much limits the possibility of a move this Summer.

As for the Musiala and Wirtz hypotheticals, I don’t see Bayern and I especially don’t see Bayer shelling that sort of money.
