Great, another exciting CB prospect who can miss out on their full potential by playing in City’s system!
Indeed, Gvardiol has seemed to forget how to defend in Pep’s system. Yes he has developed going forward, but at the expense of his Smart defensive play.

That’s not what he said. He’s said he’s in the last year of his deal, which is accurate. This is the same thing he’s been saying all season, and the same thing he will say until the extension is done. Now he certainly may not extend, but he’s not saying he’s leaving. He’s saying he is scheduled to leave
“It’s my last year at the club so I want to do something special for the city”

It’s not an announcement, but it’s def more than the factual statement of “it’s the last year my contract”

Never heard of him. Scouting report?
He’s good everywhere. I’m always a little wary of guys that play in a back three and bringing them to a back four but he can move, he’s good in the air good in duels. I’m a fan

Strong as a bull, very fast and good passer. What's not to like?
A tendency to act like a hot head. That's about it.
He’s good
"it's my last year in the club".
It is his last year at the club. Until he signs the extension

Yeah, and he’s been saying it in this way all season long. It is the last year at the club until he extends. There’s nothing inaccurate about that statement. And again it’s been consistent with what he’s said all season.

If he said “I am leaving” or “I’m not going to sign an extension” that’d be different. This is more like “Mo Salah haven’t scored any goals this year” because the calendar just turned . Obviously this could change and an extension isn’t in the bag, but right now the quote is a nothing burger

It's my last year at the club =/= it's my last year under contract. It's stronger.

It's my last year at the club =/= I'm 100% leaving the club. It's softer.

Do you have any more info on the Lyon situation? Do they or can they sell enough players to raise that 100 million euro?
I believe they will.
Caqueret will move for 20M.
Cherki for 40M.
Fofana for 30M.
And some young prospects will do the trick.

So I guess people think Doak is available?

LFC have 30m evaluation because they think (paraphrasing) he is the best player in the Championship and that’s the rate for best in Championship. Looking at Odobert and Summerville as a comps

Whether yall rate Doak or not, there is no way he is in the shop window if it is thought Salah is 100% leaving

The first answer was in relation to goals for the season and said "Coming back here to...it's my last year in the club so you want to do something special for the city"

Then later in the interview the interviewer said "You said, again, in your first answer, it is my last season at the club. Do you really believe that?"
He chuckled and answered "So far yea, it's last 6 months. There is nothing, no progress there. We're far away from any progress. So we just need to wait and see."
Then asked "So how do you maintain the level that you're maintaining with all that noise, with all that going on" to which he answered "I think the thing in my head is if this is your last 6 months or last year, what do you want to see in the future? You wanna look back and say 'oh I was concerned about the contract or I was stressed' or do you want to say 'I had an unbelievable season'"

So like you said, it's stronger than just a casual objective statement about his contract status but also not remotely at the level of "I will definitely be playing somewhere else next season"

Sounds very much like he wants to be back or, at the very least, is extremely open to being back but doesn't feel that Liverpool are offering him anywhere close to an acceptable deal.

It is what he has been doing since August. With the “it’s my last time at Old Trafford” or “win one for the supporters”. He’s playing it out because he wants to get paid well and is doing what he wants. I know it drives him to point it out and beat this drum.

There’s a greater than zero chance he goes. But there’s also a good chance he stays. It’s gonna play out how it plays out.

I don’t know if he’s available. But he would help those teams. I imagine his agent isn’t against seeing what’s out there.

For me, I’d sell him for 30-35 with a buyback. Who knows. Not the priority

Right - and I don’t blame the fans of other teams for not paying as close attention to this saga as we have been, but the big thing to me is Salah’s language of this has been consistent. The onus is on us to get something done though

I do not think the 30m valuation on Doak is unfair at all. Don’t think selling him for anything less than that accomplishes anything though. And bigger fish to fry. It’s a shame we are going to be fighting off offers all window because we really need reinforcements. If a Doak sale brings immediate help in, sure, but we aren’t getting anyone for 15-16m that is going to help right away.

They have money to not need to move Doak. I think someone said it best. If Doak wasn’t a LFC player, they would be looking to bring him in. Selling him is silly. I think 30 is something that gets the club talking, especially if he’d like to go or Slot isn’t sure he will cut it. Maybe less with incentives and a massive sell on if they don’t buy back.

You know I don’t know if Doak has the finishing to be LFC player but he is definitely PL standard. Hes got everything else. But yeah, at his price point that’s tough to replace. Teams would have to pay up. Would not sell just to sell, but if needed to move him out for defense reinforcements this window would think about it

I'd love Caqueret at Chelsea to slot in beside Caicedo, though he'd be better off going somewhere else.

Looks like Olmo and Pau Víctor have been turned down officially as part of registered roster.

Best option right now is a loan. Worst case he signs with another team while we still owe him the whole contract. Disaster. Laporta has to go
