2025 WHL Draft

Liam Pue is probably #2. Reid Nicol is Brandon has had an incredible season. Has WHL size already as well. And he would be eligible to play 34 games next season because he's playing U18 this season.

Depends who has the picks. If the draft order holds, I think that Pue ends up going 3rd to Kelowna. Regina hasn't had good luck getting top BC kids to come to town (Bedard doesn't count).

Others who could go high:
Cruz Jim
Louis Oscar-Holowaychuk
Ben Oliverio

I think Schultz, Pue, Nicol, Holowaychuk, and Oliverio, will be the first 5 forwards off the board, and I think Jim, Wolitski, Leonard, Fedoriuk, and Doka will be the first 5 dmen off the board. This is a deep draft, in my opinion. Should be good options well into the 2nd round.

I suppose that the draft order isn't set because of this expansion news with the Vees?
I'm definitely curious on where they slot in.
Is the expansion draft happening before the playoffs conclude?

Draft lottery was delayed this week because they're still sorting out the details of incorporating Penticton into both the US Import, and the Bantam Draft, which is then followed by the expansion draft. I suspect we will get the lottery next week.

Several non-playoff teams noted in their season ending interviews that the lottery would take place April 10th. The common understanding is that Penticton will get pick 4, but no lottery balls so that is a static pick, and then pick 1 in each round after.

Ah, perfect, thanks, I actually hadn't heard any date. Should be a fun month in the W, with all the drafts, and playoffs!

Best info for draft order is located at

Since there hasn't been an official announcement on Penticton's spot they aren't listed. If April 10th is correct for the lottery then a week and a half from now we will know how much Kelowna's pick is worth before they trade it.

Schultz show headed to Telus Cup Regionals. League MVP, Scoring Champ. Undisputed #1.

Who goes next may depend on who has each pick. I can see some trading happening with 1st rounders that aren't 1st overall.

The Vees will pick fourth overall, but aren't in the lottery.

I believe Bruce Hamilton went on record saying if they win the lottery they will make the pick. If they don't they will look at trading it.

I hadn't heard that but I am not tapped into the Kelowna scuttlebutt.
