Got to assume PA finds help in goal.
Im of the opinion the East Division shakes down right now.
1. Brandon. They have some top end scoring, D should be pretty solid but maybe not remarkable. Confident with Eskit in goal.
2. PA. Scoring shouldn't be a problem, D is pretty good and really top end young players that should be staying to mature in the league. Problem is Fortin is not a starter in this league, they don't fix that, they could be a third place team..
3. Saskatoon. Had a great deadline and really retooled on the fly. Love Harsanyi and Williams there, Laing could mean how to be a power forward. Some big losses on the backend, but Gardener returns in goal.
4. Regina. Liked how hard they played last year when I saw them. They lack top end skill, but Pyne will steal them wins.
5. SC. Lose their starter in Dyck, probably going with Rocha in goal (with the other Eskit kid as his backup). Return most of a young defence that played a lot before the deadline. Problem is, there is no one left on this roster that can score.
6. MJ. They have Lackovic (for now) but really nothing else behind them. I see this as another year to move talent, get picks and try to get budget older depth to insulate. Really like Banini in goal though.
Central.
1. Edmonton. Pretty easy to spot them here as they have easily the most talent in the division. Lose the older Sawchyn, Holinka, etc, but they still have some horses. D will be good. Really curious what they do with their OAs, I really like Woodward myself.
2. MH. I am in the party that 72 is gone, leaving Ritchie and the 4th line to provide the offense (Ritchie seems like a Caswell line candidate to also go NCAA). I do like who they return on D and Switzer showed this year he can play if needed.
3. Calgary. They lose all their D, bit will have a bit to work with in what I feel it's the worst Division in the league. I also think Calgary will be able to continue to get in listed guys from the US to prop them up and get some good Euro talent. Watch out for Kostick and Kindel, but I really liked watching Ng this year. D will suck, but they do bring back their predeadline goaltending tandem.
4. RD. Bit of a toss up. I don't know what to make out of this team other than it feels like they lack talent, but there is some pieces there throughout the lineup (Josephson, Gard, Wutzke). I just really don't know what to make from this team
5. Leth. Asterisk here, I'm kinda assuming they decide to go the MJ route here and sell off everything. If they don't then really the bottom 3 spots here are super interchangeable. I do know they need to recoup picks at some point, otherwise it is going to be a long haul for the franchise (sucks for them to lose both Port and Unger to other leagues already).
