With inevitably more tier 2 guys coming , it brought me back to something Gardiner said.
He had said that he found that tier 2 guys were more likely to jump at an ECHL offer and leave school if it was on the table and that was one of the reasons he didn’t dip his toes into those pools, I don’t expect someone to solve this for me but I am curious if that is the case or just his early experience at UNB.

Good point. Could be that the CHL guys KNOW they can play in the Coast at any time and choose to stay in school, where a Jr A guy has smaller window and will jump at the chance to get $530 a week and hang out at the 3 -store mall in Nowhere, USA.

Heard Ethan Montroy might forgo his last year of Junior and end up in the CIS..

I expect we see a lot more of these guys now

Dominik Godin I think will be an unreal usports player if he goes
I knew Thunder Bay could be boring but I didn’t know it was “Watch Junior Hockey from PEI” boring ;)

Lakehead has for my money the best skater I’ve ever seen in the MHL Spencer Blackwell, he was so fun to watch the year everyone only played within the province and he was in Miramichi , got a lot of looks at him

I watch junior hockey from everywhere lol

Luke Johnston - Milton OJHL - Dalhousie
Liam Rodman - Humboldt SJHL - Dalhousie
Ryan O’Dell - Niagara OJHL - Guelph

I kind of wonder if the top teams that recruit primarily from the CHL and generally later than the lower end teams find themselves scrambling when the music stops .
Someone said it but the Ruptash addition by Alberta is telling…
I also wonder about a UNB who hasn’t added a player from tier 2 since I believe Cam MacLise , if they have to look to some tier 2 guys , does it hurt them they haven’t looked twice at those leagues in 10 years where most teams were adding some Jr.A guys all along …
They’ve tried to put in rules to create parity before and the funny thing is that it was the NCAA who likely solved that lol, I’m a UNB fan but I’m a hockey fan and CIS fan first , next year should be very interesting and I don’t necessarily think this is the worst thing that has ever happened to the CIS .

Most teams in the AUS had their "Seniors Night" this past week. With the graduating players, plus players turning pro, and the uncertainty of the impact the NCAA will have on rosters, there could be a few sleepless nights ahead for coaches!

Here is the summary:

SMU, Moncton & X= 9 each
PEI=5
Acadia & Dal=3 each
UNB= unknown. Guessing 2 (Sumers and Carson).

I really like Rutledge .

Pakkala is a solid recruit in a normal year , nice to see.
I remember Pakkala from the Winnipeg ICE. I wonder if there were some chemistry issues there... he got left behind in PA early in his first season (traded to the Raiders while on the road there) and there appeared to be some bad blood whenever he came back to Winnipeg.

Regardless, it didn't seem to hinder the rest of his junior career, even if his numbers were unexceptional.
