U18: 2025 Usa Roster Talk

Adding Potter, Kevan, Horcoff, Reid, and Fiddler really gets my excitement for this tournament back up. Team looks solid and deep even if there isn't Hagens or Smith-like star power.

I like a lot that they’re letting them audition, and bucking the trend where they only select NTDP players other than the odd player here or there.

Two cuts, and those should be Lindberg and Gallant.

Love to see Reid, Fiddler, Potter, Kevan, Teddy Mutryn. Even Horcoff is cool, and shows that whatever happened at the NTDP isn’t something they’ll let get in the way of players making major rosters.

My two cents is all of the U18s non-NTDP (or former) should make it, even though I'm not a Horcoff fan, as they're all better than a decent amount of the U18 team. The U17s are a bit different. Berchild has been up for awhile where I think he makes it, but wouldn't be surprised if they sacrifice Nelson or Mutryn to make room for U18 selections.

Let's see what the lineup is next game. I really don't care about pre-tournament games, so it's no big deal we lost this (although very pathetic) if we do the right things and win games when the games matter. I hope they make some changes.

Well that loss can give US fuel. Sweden lost to Latvia in U18 2022 in the first group stage game and ended up winning everything

They play Finland today. Virtually the same lineup. Looks like they swapped out Belle for Lansing. I wonder if that’s an injury or just a cut. It’s also going to be Reid and Nelson cut, barring any injuries, as neither suited up in the exhibitions.



What a joke. Shitty older NTDP players still get a free ride to a U18 Worlds spot.

Boettinger was a quite disappointing during his two years in the NTDP.

He’s better than every single player who made the team, so of course they had to pick players instead who’ll never be drafted.

They made a minor appearance of doing things differently when they announced the camp roster and then were like “nope, we need to defend the honor of Garrett Lindberg”, so yeah we’re still in the same place as before with how USAH picks this roster and will have a worse team at this tournament than we should.
