It is another massive blow to USA Hockey that Canada has won this tournament three times in last five years despite missing many of their best players every year. It's embarrassing. Okay, if we win our third WJC title in a row in Minnesota next year, I'll take this.

2002-2017 10 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, 2 Bronze medals.

16 Years and Gold Medal ratio is 62.50%

2018-2025 1 Gold, 3 Silver medals, 2 Bronze Medals.

Next 7 Years and Gold Medal ratio is only 14,29%

There are some really good age groups who couldn't get the job done. That says something. NTDP also did something right for years when they were able to win gold even with slightly weaker age groups. Of course, Finland had a peak years in the U18s and U20s for a couple of years and now they have declined a bit again. Sweden has raised their level in recent years and Canada has certainly had better teams in the U18s. I would still say that the problems come from inside the program rather than from tougher opponents.

I don't see much expectations for the 2008s either. They didn't even manage to medal at the U17 WHC...
