Golf: 2025 US Open - Scottie's World Edition

That's awesome. Time for me to go back down the rabbit hole of obscure major winners and compare his career to theirs at this point. Shaun Micheel immediately came to mind.
Rich Beem is the other one I always think of because he beat Tiger.

Curtis’ family owned a local public course. They shut it down to play but opened up the clubhouse for anyone who wanted to watch the final round of The Open that year. I still remember it like it was recent history.

Played with him once on that course although he was a kid and I didn’t know who he was at the time. He was probably 13-14 and he used to hang out at the starter waiting for a group of two or three he could jump in with. He was all skin and bones but man after the first drive we knew we were gonna get embarrassed.

Spaun is a pretty cool story.

To be a journeyman on tour for approaching 10 years without accomplishing much (that sounds bad, but anyone playing almost 10 years on tour is ridiculously good) and then finding an absolute elite hot streak and riding it to a major is really f***ing cool. He'll get to play the Ryder Cup as well, almost won the Players earlier this year. Feels so rare for someone to make that jump. Seems like a great guy too.

After the 96 minute rain delay, the tourney announced that if there was a PO, it would be played on Monday.
