GDT: 2025 U18's

Amazing game

As a neutral fan
Garbage as a Swedish fan because these D are atrocious.

Replay from last game between them. Difference there was that the F eventually really helped cover all those mistakes from the D and the special teams being heavily in Sweden's favor (Frondell & Björck bullied the US PP).

Solid game by Team USA. I thought Mooney was really buzzing and Kvasnicka also played well . Quinlan have up a weak 2nd goal but has been solid both games I've seen him.

This kid is under 18?

I think people need to chill a little bit. Just because there is this one delulu idiot poster, doesn't mean people have to be unnecessarily disrespectful to Latvia. At least I feel like this is what it is all about
when a dude can stop talking hypocritical nonsense all over international threads i find this as a normal behaviour.

Latvia has solid generation coming up, best ever probably, i have no problem admiting that.. i feel no hatred towards Latvia its just this dude that tickles my sarcastic, provocative inner self.

Sweden has let in too many SOG and goals this tournament. Not good enough
Agreed.
Guess to some extent it goes hand in hand with this team being arguably the most offensive Swedish U18 team ever. Heck, there are even some pure offense guys on the checking line.

Will be interesting to see how Goos does vs Czechia. Härenstam had some great saves vs USA, but some goals allowed were kind of soft. And some unlucky ones. He is good with his stick though, while Goos looks very nervous handling the puck. Goos, however, has been better overall in previous games this season, so I kind of hope he gets the start in the QF.

But time to dress Malte Vass IMO. Makes no sense considering the big role he had throughout the season on this team. Wondering if he could be battling illness or a minor injury?

Lucky to get out of the first period with a 2-1 lead. Even gettin out of it tied would have been a bit lucky.
For most of the period they played very sloppy and could count their blessings, that the Swiss player could not convert their numerous chances.
The one goal they gave up, continuing their woes on the pk, was probably one of the least dangerous chances the Swiss team had.

I hope they manage to keep the momentum from the last few minutes, when Händel scored twice. This is far from over, especially if they don't clean up their game and remain this sloppy.

Reminder that Switzerland has to not only win, but win in regulation, or else they are in the relegation faceoff and Germany is in the Quarters. Still a lot of "ifs" right now, but a Germany-Slovakia Quarterfinal, with winner facing USA-Latvia winner in the Semis is looking very possible.

Better second period and a good result. I just hope they won't try to sit back with the lead too much in the third.
Keep the pressure up, this team cannot weather a storm. They are at 1 for 2 (50%) on the penalty kill so far in this game and that would raise their pk percentage.
They have to keep pushing.
