I turned on the game about 6 mins in with Slov outshooting Canada, and 0-0
Canada dominated from there, 5-0 after 1

I actually thought the Slovaks came out looking great, Ivankovic kept us in the game, but the wheels really came off for them at the 10 minute mark

The Canadian D looked fantastic with the puck, moving north, both 5v5 and especially on the PP. Lin, Huang, Villneuve, Smith, Carrells all great

Button was drooling over him all period and rightfully so, Brady Martin is a killer. In a draft filled with landmines a team will like Martin’s value as a high ceiling, safe floor, energetic power wing

Ivankovic, Martin, Smith, Cootes and Schmidt really stood out, as they should. Lin, Carels and Villeneuve also standouts. With Verhoeff coming that 2026 D class is going to be on full display this tournament

Congratulations on the win! I was really concerned about this one after the exhausting US game, but hoped we’d sneak a close win. Oh well, wasn’t to be. Well done Germany! Annoying to lose though after nine straight wins against the German team.
