GDT: 2025 U18's Day 1

Would we really be worse if they picked some 08 or 09 forwads? Just 4 lines of who can't skate, shoot or handle the puck now.

Best period I have seen from Boumedienne with the Swedish national team. His skating is really something

That game really was one of a kind.

I don't think there has been a 0-0 draw in U18 Worlds ever before.

I'm not sure what that means, but I don't think the goalies were exceptional.

What a bullshit game for Finland.
0 goals with 30+ shots and penalty-shots.
It's not a suprise why NHL organisations have showed
ZERO INTEREST to send their scouts to Finland to scout these
concrete-hands who cannot shoot that f***ing puck and score with skill.

None of these guys shouldn't be drafted this summer.
Only guy who might worth a later round ( rounds 5-7 ) is the goalie Patrik Kerkola but nobody else.
Loser of tomorrows Finland vs Norway game will be relegation game but the guess is now which-one.

Norway isn't any-kind measuring-stick for Finland in U18 and U20 WJC's.
so that game should be clear and easy win with clear margin but somehow i'm not sure it is.

It is down year for Finnish prospects

I really don't understand why Finland didn't want to use one of the tournaments during the season to test a lot of the younger guys who clearly aren't nearly as bad as this age group. They know what they have with these players and they beat Sweden and the NTDP this season with these players but why not even give younger forwards a chance? I'd go as far to say that some of the 09 born guys would have been clear reinforcements for this team, nevermind the 08 guys

He has a brother
Oh OK.
My bad i should have knew that you were talking Oscar Hemming.

I watched that YLE sport document for Finnish 2008 born players which is available in YLE areena.
Oscar Hemming was one of main characters in that document.

That document was filmed before 2008 born's pohjola leiri few years ago.

No idea.

Fun fact: there will be 2 Latvian goalies on ice in the Latvia-Norway game

Freimanis vs. Capars

(Looks like a late goalie change by Latvia, thank god)

That was a long second period 😅 Boumedienne, who I praised after the first, was old Boumedienne again. Too much solo skating without using his head. Nice goal though.

Filip Ekberg and Melvin Novotny (despite limited ice time) among the standouts. Really like Björck on the point.

But overall quite sloppy game with poor passing and decision making. The ice does not seem to be very good either.
