So Max Jones gets to play with Corey Perry finally ? I remember in the 2016 draft they were comparing him to Perry especially given the dirty reputation he had in the OHL at the time with various suspensions. Jones ended up actually being a really nice guy and not a dirty player at all at the NHL level.

Maybe getting to play with Perry will help thats transformation some. Always liked Jones, he just couldnt put it all together. Maybe he will be like those other Ducks that were bounced around twice before they actually broke out.

Always felt it was a confidence thing. Could be work ethic/IQ though too. Hopefully he figures it out, otherwise he could be out like Comtois

Sounds like Im in the minority but Mac has been a different player since Christmas. To me, he seems to be figuring it out.

With Z, I have to imagine its either that he has quietly asked to go to a larger market team or management has concerns about his style/durability/something. Or, maybe more realistically, hes just that shiny object the insiders cant leave alone.

I tend to think where there is smoke, there is fire. Seems way too easy for Beeker to just come out and say "We arent moving Zegras, these insiders arent inside anything other than their own heads."

I’ve come to the realization that Zegras is probably gone now or this summer but they aren’t “selling” him, he’ll be used to get an upgrade IMO

I don't think it's work ethic or confidence, he was a hustler and always had a good attitude. Definitely IQ, the guy is just not a smart player - even our current 4th line guys win more pucks than Max did. And Jones was weird from the standpoint of handling the puck, more often than not it'd look like he had bad hands but sometimes he'd make an amazing play with the puck. very peculiar

I think he's the opposite of Comtois who was probably a decently intelligent player but was always either out of shape or didn't hustle. Stuff like that.

Until Z gets his scoring back up to where it was, he's nothing more than a reclamation project to the rest of the league. Nobody is giving up an "upgrade" for what they perceive as a reclamation project.

It all started with his holdout and subsequent set of injuries. He needs a good summer of training and a great start to camp next year. Hopefully with the Ducks...

I feel like everything we heard was that he was a really hard worker and loved in the dressing room. I think it's all IQ. He had a ton of tools but no toolbox.

Has anyone ever supported this clickbaity claim with facts or quotes from our front office? Until someone does, I flatly don't believe it.

Well, PV hasn't impressed me in general with his ability to pick forwards (either draft, trade, or UFA) so he could certainly decide that he wants Zegras traded. I just don't think it would be a fair value trade at this point. I'd be open to a 1-1 swap for Cozens but any trade would be risky given how much talent Zegras has.
