Just want to add - off topic - but it was literally a few hours ago, just before the Avs/Sharks game, where Friedman said he does not think Nelson to Colorado happens.

I respect Friedman, I really do, but the guy knows absolutely nothing about the Avs. He has zeeeerrrrooooo sources inside the Avs organization. Only reason he likely broke the deal is either from the Isles or a source at the league office.

The Avs are always quiet. When CMac says he is done, then they are done. Until then, we wait.

Did Elliotte say he didn't think it would happen, or was he the guy that said he thought it was "less likely" than another team?

All of that love for super nerd Tulsky when the trade initially happened. They're all in, they're going for it, props for taking the risk, years in the making, finally got the true game breaker, worry about the future later, etc.

The owner probably has a lot to do with this move as well but lets see if people keep the same energy.

My guess is they felt they could re-sign Mikko, but things haven’t gone Mikko’s way since the trade and he decided he wasn’t going to stay, so Tulsky decided he didn’t want a repeat of the Guentzel situation and is recouping what he can.

That also tells me he doesn't think he needs to be any better, but just chose vengeance. In that case I like our chances of making him look stupid.
Avs showed no loyalty to him, why would he have to show it to us?

FTR I would never have paid him 13-14 million, so Avs were smart to get rid of him. Even with that said, it clearly shows no loyalty from us as the Front Office never saw him better than MacKinnon's cap. He probably thinks he is better than it.

Yeah I can see that too. I still think Mikko is a prideful guy and wants to prove a point.

If he's prideful, and doesn't think he actually declined, it doesn't matter where he goes. If he comes back west he's just going to be consistently reminded of how much he sucks now.

He needs to drop 10lbs, and focus on his conditioning. Otherwise we'll walk right over Bambi
.

Too much smoke around Vegas/Marchand earlier today. The Avs and Stars moves tonight makes me think it's even more likely he ends up in Vegas. They need their splash.

I'll also say this..

No one here really thought Cmac would actually give up Ritchie in that trade. It hadn't been his MO.

I personally said it, they'd have to..

Cmac is ballz deep

I don't recall exact wording but if pressed I believe he said it wasn't likely Colorado. I could be wrong.

Yeah Elliotte mentioned Colorado as a possibility with other teams, but said he thought they were "less likely."

He also added that it's Lou Lamoriello so we're all guessing.

This whole clip to me is an example of why Elliotte is the best. He gives fans his informed speculation, but makes sure they know he's just speculating.

Lehkonen - MacKinnon - Necas
Drouin - Nelson - Nichushkin
MARCHAND - Drury - MERCER
Kiviranta - Kelly - O’Connor

Toews - Maker
Girard - Manson
Lindgren - CARLO

Blackwood
Wedgewood
I don't know. Is Drury enough for a third line center?

I feel like we’re done going into tommorrow. This pushes Casey into the JT Compher 3C slot which could be perfect for him.

Only wish we had more grit in our forward depth, but not feeling like we have any assets to bring in a player like that.

I think Mitts is gone. Teams are desperate for centers.

They offered him 11.5M and he said no..

After that they didn't need to show loyalty lol. I bet they actually did a happy dance when he said no to that.

Blink once if you're just spitballing, blink twice if you know something

One of my lifelong friends is the special assistant to the GM and I swear to God he is more tight lipped than anybody lol. Cogs gives zero info, but he also admits he’s not really involved in trades… yet. He’s learning many other aspects of management.

So you're saying Mitts for ROR is still possible.
