***MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT***

I am announcing that my posts are going to be 25% meaner and 25% more ridiculous (like this one).

This is due to the on-going influx of bad messages that we are seeing on a daily basis.

Stuff like - we should trade for this guy - when the player is completely cooked and has been for years AND/OR maybe we should get this guy for a #2C - when he's a winger and has never played center.

Thank you for taking the time to properly notify us of this. I feel like most people around here just do not follow the proper protocol and change their posting styles on a whim instead of properly alerting us. Thank you for being reasonable.

Few months of bad play doesn't erase what he did the last 2 years. You don't give up a young cost controlled centre for a guy turning 35 this year. Kadri falls off a cliff next year and we're stuck with a horrendous contract.

Just let the Kadri thing go. Imagine you didn't sign the guy because you're afraid of the backend of the contract but get him back after he burned 2 of his prime years so you can be stuck with the backend of his deal LMFAO
Kadri would be an improvement this year, but yeah as soon as next year the scales will probably tip the other way. Still, it could be worth it. We just aren't winning a cup with current Mitts as our 2C.

Personally though I'm wishing for Nelson.

Kadri at 7M opens up possibilities for other C options as he might decline.

So who is our 2C next season if we end up with Nelson?

Kadri.

According to Pagnotta, the Hurricanes have asked the Maple Leafs for Matthew Knies to be included in a deal, something Toronto GM Brad Treliving is not interested in doing without a long-term commitment from Rantanen.

The Stars are believed to be willing to include forward Mavrik Bourque as part of a deal.

I just can't see Carolina getting anything close in return for Mikko as to what they gave up.

They're not getting a top 10 scorer, a young 3C, and two 2nd round picks.

Like I said yesterday, I think they only team, who Mikko would waive his NTC for, that could deal them something of fair value is LA.

You do if you're going ALL-IN to try and win another Cup this year or next. C-Mac has got roughly 28 hours to make this team the very best it can be.

Unfortunately, Mitts hasn't been good enough the past few months to risk becoming a one-line team that's too easy to defend in the playoffs.

The reason they didn't sign Kadri to begin with was because they didn't know what the cap would be - years down the road. They now have that information. You're acting like they've had that information the whole time or should have known in 2022 that the cap was going to be $112M by 2028.

I think if they are dealing with Calgary for Kadri they should go and get Rasmus Andersson as well.

Someone on the main thread mentioned that Winnipeg could involve Ehlers. That would be pretty close. Obviously Necas has one more year on his deal, and is having a career year. But their careers have very similar numbers otherwise. Ehlers is actually the better scorer of the two. If Winnipeg is offering Ehlers, I'm taking that as Carolina if they are adamant about trading Rantanen.

Rantanen for Clarke makes a little too much sense.
