Not only will it not surprise me if he re-ups both Nelson and Palmieri, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him trade a pending RFA like Romanov lol.

Potential targets would be Dickinson, Smith, Donato or Kurashev up front. The least likely is Dickinson

On D there's Martinez, Kaiser, or Crevier that I could see the Avs looking at, Kaiser being the least likely.

Ivan is most likely going to be traded for one of these guys if it does go down, sadly.

I doubt the Avs make a forward move. They'll see how Mitts plays with Nuke/Drouin this year and re-evaluate in the summer.

I could see them bringing in another D man with Malinski going out. Doubt the Avs want to pay him what he's going to ask this summer as an RFA. Malinksi+ for homeboy Carlo. It'd put the Avs right against the cap, but do-able without retention.

Chicago was hard scouting him back in January during his last NHL stint, and followed him to the Eagles for a couple of games afterward

Now he's he's either injured, or caught the Byram bug and being held out for a trade

MacFarland trading away the good vibes with guys Rants, Kovalenko, Ivan Ivan......while keeping a coach who can't organize a defence in the current NHL and having a guy like Mittelstadt play.

I dunno we're very much in the well-past peak and now making moves just to stay relevant before inevitable early playoff exits phase.
