Not really. Gourde and Evans were the 2 guys that made the most sense for us and they are no longer on the market.

If they're adding a winger because the center options are shit, that's one that would be at the top of my list. Good contract AAV, and insurance in case Landeskog doesn't return. Then you can deal Colton in the offseason to recoup some assets. Or you deal him to NJ now, if there is a cheaper player you like out there for the role.

With another top six winger on this team it might be more fiesable to try Necas at 2C as well. Because if you do that, you're losing one.

Meh. Gourde doesn't move the needle at all. Avs don't need another 3C/4C type, just to get another C. They need a true 2C, and, outside of Nelson, there aren't many/any available without paying collateral the Avs don't have, without weakening their roster in another area.

How much of it was injury, and how much of it is being a 33 year old who's listed at 5'9" but plays the game like he's 6'6"?

I've always like him because he really is an energy guy, but you have to wonder if he is simply breaking down.

Tuch would be a good fit on this Avs team. His speed and zone entry ability is what makes this team work. We've seen it with Nuke. Not saying Tuch is anywhere as good as Nuke but he has that speed and size aspect.

He would help improve the 4th line or push Drury to 4C.

I like the idea of Tuch more than someone like Gourde if that's a choice.
