I respect players who play their entire career in one team. Can't hate on Crosby for that.
As much as I want it to happen, Sid's entire life is in Pittsburgh, 10 months a year for almost two decades.

His family, his friends, his charities, his business ventures, his community roots, everything is there.

The people aspect is what we sometimes forget with these players. Sid would be losing all of that.

Did Bourque's? I think their community connections stand.

Blah blah blah

I still want him on the Avs

I think Sid is having a hard time grappling with the fact that if he comes to Colorado this deadline he will have won the same amount of cups in Colorado and Pittsburgh by the time he retires, he doesn't want Pittsburgh to be overshadowed

Nelson is big, decent on faceoffs, skates well, and most importantly a great goal scorer. That would be a big time addition, especially if they also keep Mittelstadt and have him play out the season as the 3C.

Downside is that it'll likely be an expensive bidding war for a rental and a lot of people already have him penciled into the Wild lineup for next season. Not that you'd really want to extend a 33 year old UFA Nelson anyways.

I'd I had a choice between Nelson and ROR it'd easily be ROR.

Personally I'd like a better solution than either.

There isn't one..

The asset cost for Nelson as a rental vs ROR at 4.5M next year puts ROR ahead for me. You can justify him at 3C in the future and continue working the problem.

I don't know wtf their ratings are based on, but if you're going to pay costs like 1st & Ritchie etc..

I agree. ROR sounds decent value even at his age and his contract. I am not sure he would be happy in Colorado, that would be my concern.

It was a long time ago, and the only thing he did was value himself highly, then go on to prove it. He should of never left.

TSN has him as easily the best rated center that could be available, and worth 7.5M. I added the card to my post.

2nd straight Philly game we are scouting.

Obviously we are getting Tippett.

Shh, I know it’s Laughton we are watching.

Shut up and get on the ROR train lol.

That would be so bad.

For a pure rental, yeah it would suck. Ritchie isn't going to be a 2C in time to save us though even if everything goes well.

Yeah he’s unlikely to be the 2C savior. At the same time, he could be a super valuable winger for really cheap that gives us a ton more cap flexibility.
