Well TSN just went over how many kids leave their country to play elsewhere because they can't get ice because Bobby Sangiunetti, Ryan Lasch and the likes take the spots. It is a problem there. Half their team plays in North America. That shouldn't be happening.

I think it's more because they're such a small country it's not feasible for them to have a thriving junior league with enough depth and talent for their players to stay home and get the same development they would from much bigger leagues. Maybe if hockey was as popular as it is in Finland but they're not the same.

I just used his name as an example, insert whatever washed out ex pro here lol

Sir, he is on the 2026 Olympic short list

Leonard is feeling it today

This game is good and bad. Hate to go from a game like this and have to play say Czechia Sat...though my gut says Canada wins and we get the Fins which again makes me feel blahhhh

I feel like this team might thrive on redemption. They do well when they have a chip on their shoulder, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are itching to take on Finland again

I am not afraid of them nor are the boys I am sure. Just hate to see an easy game like this to happen right before the semis. And if it is Finland I would rather we had to work a bit harder today to prepare. I think the boys are hoping for Finland too for redemption. Just these games many times turn into trap games when we need to work on fixing issues still.

Leonard is going to be a terror in the NHL

I’ve used this comparable with him before but I’ll say it again. He reminds me of a mix between TJ Oshie and Matthew Tkachuk
This is a STYLISTIC comparison, but there's an aspect of MacKinnon's game in there. They're the same height, same approximate weight, so I'm hoping Leonard uses MacKinnon as a model as to how to continue to be physical in the NHL while not being ridiculously huge.
