I understand being upset you didn’t make it but you still gotta support your country. Not a good look here from Zane and Misa or for Team Canada for that matter.

It’s not the right thing to do. At the end of the day, they’re teenagers who hit a button that were probably upset about getting cut when they felt like their play warranted inclusion and many people in their corner whom they either know personally or didn’t likely agreed with them. They shouldn’t have done it as I’m sure they have friends on the team and such, but no need for people to rake them over the coals for it. This is just hockey, not war.

It’s an interesting scenario where you could make a legitimate argument that team not picked might be better than team picked. Like it’s close… you could say in other years team not picked might win in a given day if things go right but you look at the snub list and there really isn’t much or any separation between that group and the ones they selected. Not sure on goaltending though.

He has made his bed the last year and a half with actions on the ice. He is incredibly talented...
Can you be more specific on all of his actions? They clearly did not hurt him on draft day which carries a lot more impact as a team is basically hoping if all goes well to invest an entire decade or more into a player is, so their character matters quite a bit. Without more specifics, it just feels kinda defamatory to say stuff like that.

Suspensions (stick swinging and spitting are the first two that come to mind) retaliatory penalties, diving/embellishment, constant whining, all this and have not seen him drop the mitts once. Million dollar talent, 2 cents worth of character. Don't have time for ALL his actions but he's the epitome of a me first player.

I am a Kitchener Rangers fan and couldn't cheer for him vs the London Knights. That should say enough.

Yeah character is proving so valuable in the first 5 games. No room for CHL dman of the year who already has a Mem Cup…
How'd Canada do on the PK tonight? Would the extra 2 penalties Zayne likely would have taken have helped?

This is one of the least inspiring TC rosters I can remember. Heidt, Sennecke, Yakemchuk, Parekh, Greentree, Misa and Cristall were all right there and Cameron opted for a bunch of pluggers who will work hard but lack the skill to break games open.

I'd easily take the following roster over the "A" team:

Cristall-Heidt-Sennecke
Greentree-Hage-Parascek
Misa-Boisvert-Wood
Finnie-Sawchyn-Masse
Barkey

Smith-Yakemchuk
Bertucci-Parekh
Chadwick-Mews
Morin

Ratzlaff
Gardner

Hate to be right.

How many Saginaw Spirit games or SSM Greyhound games have you seen to draw this conclusion?
Quite a few actually, I watch a lot of junior hockey. To see that Hockey Canada dropped the ball and is running a terrible powerplay while leaving 2 RHD PPQBs they desperately need at home doesn't require season tickets though.

I swear to god there was a thread about this being an “all time”‘team before the tournament started

Would be better than 2016 which never trailed and never lost.

That didn’t last long
Then go to THAT thread and comment about it THERE.

Congrats to Dave Cameron and the HC coaching staff!

1. Terrible PP and Coaches did not make any adjustment??
2. very little chemistry on the 3rd and 4th lines, they didn't do anything.
3. Tanner Howe on the PP???
4. Matthieu Cataford appears very ineffective, only throws a very few body checks and he is on the team.
5. TC could not score and Cameron did not do everything after the mid-way of 2nd period.

As for the true Canadian fans and not the Canadian posters who only come here when Canada loses...

1) Prior to tonight, Canada handily beat Sweden, Czechia and Finland. Tonight's loss does not change that.

2) Adversity early ALWAYS helps in a tournament like this. It never hurts.

3) Let's stand by the boys.

Didn’t mean to imply they can’t be criticized.
Fair enough, WT. You're a good poster.

I doubt you could bet on this game - the sites wouldn't give odds feeling they were just too long.

Tonight is truly a (mini) miracle on ice. Well done Latvia.

How many times are you going to post this before you realize that Misa is a FORWARD
Like, an unlimited number of times probably until somebody corrects me lol. I dont follow the OHL at all (except the occasional game with Oilers prospects if it makes it onto Sportsnet + memorial cup) and I saw people listing off D-men that shoulda made it, with Misa also on their list. I didn’t realize they meant x y z on D and ALSO Misa (a F) . My bad. I checked his stat sheet and couldn’t believe how good it was. Still should be on the team! Just not on D apparently. Wrongest I’ve been in a minute.

For bad for you guys. Hoping you get it together and can provide some real competitive games. This tournament needs a competitive Canada, especially without Russia.

Your coach sounds like a buffoon. I'd start by putting Dickinson on PP1, if Schaefer is done. Price or Molendyk on PP2. Mynio>Gibson. Stop playing Gibson so much. Put Martone and Rehkopf in the top 6. Get rid of bums like Howe and Pinelli.
