very decent period from Canada, better than the first really but just better goaltending from the Swiss, totally dominant, players growing in confidence

Mckenna cant possibly stay as 13th forward can he?
Having him take random shifts on random lines just seems so bad to me. He's clearly a creative player and you would think you'd want to have him to develop some chemistry with his linemates so they can better anticipate his creativity. Plus he's just too good to have as the extra guy.

Having said that he should have just looked to shoot on the couple of chances he got.

After two periods I would say the weakest line for Canada has been the Howe- Luchanko - Cataford line.
I don't think there is any question. Not noticeable really. Howe made a nice play or two, Cataford looked confused, Luchanko overhandled the puck once.

Nice little play for McKenna to Cowan. TSN is right though, the coaches are going to want to see him shoot it from some of the prime scoring spots he gets to.

Reading the posts...

During the mini series about the Summit Series, you hear a radio program in which one of the callers says, "This country sure does LOVE to eat its own".

It's nice to see, 52 years later, things have NOT changed.

With all the critcism out there about the roster and line combo choices in mind.... color me reasonably impressed with this first pre-tournement game, plenty of positives to take away and some learnings for the coaching team no doubt, get Pinelli in for Cataford on Saturday and keep inserting McKenna in to the top lines with the specific instruction not to try to be the playmaker every shift

Impressive by Schaefer again, critical in the build to Catton's goal. Then a bad play by Bjarnason to create the goal against himself.

Really liking Molendyk and Schaefer.
