For what it's worth about Tanner Howe - he was the best forward during the all-Canada scrimmage yesterday. Had a few points and was probably the hardest-working player out there

It was a... borderline meaningless scrimmage – they just tried a bunch of different scenarios, like 5-on-5, 4-on-4, PP, PK, shootout. But it's all we have to go off of from this group together so far and he looked great.

I'll say this; Tanner Howe put up decent numbers when he was playing with Bedard and now his production has declined. However, even Bedard could barely keep that Pats team above water, and now that he's gone, they are dreadful. So perhaps Howe is a guy that can play with good players, but just doesn't have much talent around him right now (Not unlike the situation Bedard finds himself in with Chicago). Hopefully if they do, in fact, put him on Team Canada, there will be some skill that he can play effectively with.
What I don't understand and I usually DEFEND Hockey Canada...

Why are they moving away from so much high end skill? I can see choosing a 200 foot player who is a little less gifted over someone who is highly gifted but does not play a 200 foot game but...

As others have said, they are leaving a LOT of talent behind.

Let's wait until the actual cuts and then we can debate what they've left behind.

I hope they get those nice closeups of those kids coming down the hall after just getting cut! Those interviews were the worst. Did they do them last year? I don't recall.

You're a great guy OF but keep this up and i'll have no choice but to block you.

I assume no one has told you this is a negative free thread, Canadian fans always keep it light and mellow.
