Do we not remember how Team Canada operates? They must always bring several plugs who bring very little to the team.

I also don’t agree with guys being gifted spots who were on last year’s team. If you aren’t playing well this year, you should have to earn your spot.

This roster is extremely strong, and is easily the best roster at the tournament. People need to understand that unless you are an absolute freak like McKenna, you have to wait your turn to make this team. This year is for 2005's, and 2006's.

based on this roster its a very good possibility if get bad draw in qf
I wouldn’t go that far; the ridiculous depth this year means that the top 6 and top 4 D will be still be strong. But gutting depth scoring, which is what separates us from pretty much every other country, is becoming so predictably laughable with that dinosaur Anholt in charge. How he still has this job after last year’s disaster and his own team not even being good over the course of the last two seasons is beyond me…. They should have Mark and Dale Hunter permanently running this team, no matter what extra cost that would incur

To not invite the OHL's top scorer and a likely top five draft pick is an interesting choice, especially when they opt to bring McKenna. This seems like USA Hockey style big brain thinking.

That’s how you end up with Fraser Minten as your captain and getting your ass kicked in the quarterfinal.

I think not inviting guys to camp is disrespectful. Are you worried they’ll outplay people you like personally better and can’t bring your guys or what? If they have bad camps don’t bring them.

Roster is really strong, but could have been better

Not bringing the best players I see. Misa deserved to be there, he's leading the best junior hockey league in the world in the scoring. If he's ahead of Martone, and they're both 2026 draft eligible, why are you leaving Misa at home? Because he's born a few months later into 2007 and therefore has one additional year of eligibility left vs Martone? Dumb thinking. Take the best players, period.

The only omission I'm surprised by is Yakemchuk, but otherwise, this is the roster I expected. Parekh might have a chance of making the team next year, but I think HC has issues with his character, so it wouldn't surprise me to never see him on the team. The team they have selected is extremely good, and should win the tournament.

Akey, Brunicke, Gibson, Allen, and Mynio over Parekh and Yakemchuk is nasty work.

HC never fails to amuse that's for sure.

That's the unfortunate thing is Canada has so much talent they can get away with stupid decisions but even then Yakemchuk is a 05 so was his last year eligible then Iginla, Sennecke, Parehk 06s. My gripe isn't even them not making the team(although they should have) it's simply not even being invited to camp. They're all having great years so it's not like Barlow who's struggling
