They better not be buying.

Still waiting for this team to be uncomfortable to play against.
Still waiting for the team to go to the tough areas and score some dirty goals.
Still waiting for the team to ice the best 18 on the roster.
BLucGervin still probably thinks they're right there.

Have got to get a whole new front office, from top with Luc.
Keep Yannetti, he's alright.

Don't buy, this group hasn't earned it.

Hopefully LA's recent play means management won't waste assets trying to contend with this roster.

They should be exploring the trade market for Gavrikov and Jeannot but they won't.

Doughty, Kopitar, Danault and Kempe should be informed in the offseason that it's rebuild time. We'll be able to retain on 3 contracts since Provorov is coming off the books.

I don't think Blake would ever agree to that, but he may not need to inform them anyway, the trash will take itself out when people all realize we're not only not a contender, we're not even competitive.

This team has shown us exactly who they are for the last 5 years and we keep hoping against hope that this time is different

But they're just another blackhole team who is excellent when the stakes are low--preseason, early season--but chokes away once there's any semblance of pressure

No wonder Blake hides like a total f***ing p***y from any real media, team resembles him too much

You are making the mistake of using logic here and for the record you are totally right.

Now get emotional. Blake and Robitaille's jobs are on the line and they have to win a playoff round this season. They are (unfortunately) going to swing for the fences.

There's two contradictory narratives around here:

1) Management isn't held accountable by AEG
2) Bluc will make a move to save their jobs.

These can't both be true at the same time. If they're not being held accountable, why would they have to worry about saving their jobs?

Hey, Lucic is a free agent. Let's bring him back! Joking, but I'd rather do that than give up assets that won't move the needle much. Also, I had no idea he signed with Boston for a year, then...stuff happened. According to Wikipedia:

"On July 1, 2023, Lucic returned to Boston, signing a one-year, $1 million contract with the team. Only four games into his season, Lucic took a puck to the ankle and was placed on long-term injured reserve by the Bruins. In the early morning of November 18, 2023, while still out of the lineup due to injury, Lucic was arrested in Boston for a "domestic incident". On November 21, he pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault and battery on a family member who was later revealed to be his wife. Lucic allegedly pulled his wife's hair and attempted to choke her. The charges were dropped on February 16, 2024. Lucic was given an indefinite leave of absence, and, combined with his injury, did not play for the remainder of the 2023–24 season."

I am going off the smoke and the reports from last season and unfortunately I am guilty of using logic here.
We know that they were told that they had to make the playoffs last season, but weren't allowed to use any assets at the deadline.
They assumably sold AEG that they were right there and that they lost to the team hat was a game away from winning the cup.
Reports out there from the trade pundits is that they are active and trying to make a major deal.

#1 above is still entirely possible and it is possible that the only reason DL was fired was because of Luc's coup. I hope that I am wrong there.

It sounds like they are looking to retain Gavrikov long term. Might have been Freedman mentioning a potential 7-year deal?

Agree regarding shopping him and others, I'm sure the return would be quite solid, but that's too logical of an approach for this FO.

The hamster wheel continues to churn in Blake's noggin.

Edmonton adds Trent Frederic as Rob Blake sits on his ass. Would've been a great add to LA's bottom 6 - now we're likely going to have to play against him in the playoffs. Greaaaaaat.

Does anyone wish that Blake would just go for Billy Beane this year and treat Hiller like Art Howe?

Hiller. - I am dressing Lewis
Blake - no your not
Hiller - this is my team and I am
Blake - I just traded him to Chicago.
Blake - no more 11/7, the forwards are gassed
Hiller - Burroughs is a team guy, good in the locker room
Blake - I traded him too, dress Clarke
Hiller - at least I get to still go 11/7
Blake - uh no, let me tell you about Doughty
Haha, I totally thought of this too. I think he could get them to fill the soda machine for a year too.

I don't know. Oilers management is dumb. If they're acquiring a player he's probably burnt. Frederic has been really bad this year.

Thank you Montreal. One less player we have to worry about.

Lane Hutson was a player I wanted the Kings to draft, but seeing how this team completely mishandles and bumbles young talent, it's a blessing he was drafted by a team that lets him play.

He'd never achieve those accolades in a Kings' uniform.

This is correct, he'd be stuck behind Anderson, Gav, Edmundson and Mov.
5'9" seems to be the optimal size for all Canadian prospects.

He’ll take Kempe out of the series and score 5 goals in 4 games in Round 1 then be a complete nonfactor/healthy scratch the rest of their run.

Been saying for a while, this all gets much much worse before it gets better.
The excuse of Doughty missing time will be used this year, "next season will be different once everyone is healthy."

We are likely still two years out, stuck watching the team try to win with the corpses of Kopitar and Doughty. At that point maybe something happens, but even then it's just as likely that Bergevin slimes his way into the GM job if Blake goes.

Call me Nostradumbass if this goes the opposite.

They will re-sign Gavrikov. 6 to 6.25 for a long term deal.

They’ll also re-sign Jeannot, 1.75 million per.

And they go after Marner in the summer.

🤮🤮🤮

Don't put that bad juju in the air haha

For the bolded part...I think it is completely opposite for this management. If the Kings were somewhat okay right now they would buy less valuable players. Since they suck right now, I think they swing big for the fences.

This management will do the complete opposite of what is right for the team.

You mean bottom 5? Because LA only runs the 11/7 :sarcasm:

Full details of the deal between Edmonton , Boston and NJ.

So they got Frederic 75% retained and Jones for what the Kings paid for Jeannot. Deadline is supposed to be more expensive than the offseason and Kings got the worse player.

That probably

That long deleted, probably not Lombardi tweet, but maybe it actually was him about Blake getting "taken advantage of by every GM in the league" becomes more and more salient with every trade...

With Noah Juulsen out for the year for the Canucks, which bottom pairing defenseman with zero offensive upside will Blake target at the deadline to play ahead of Clarke? 33 games with zero points is damn impressive and painted a big, big target on the Juulman for this regime.

Personally I think he's pivoted to eyeing Nicklaus Perbix in Tampa, who has 5 points in 50-something games. It's not zero but it's close. Maybe Parker Wotherspoon from Boston?
